I used to use ear mite cleaners from my local vet (very expensive in my opinion and not that great) which my cat was very sensitive to so I decided to try something different. I was looking for something that was organic or alcohol free and I came across this wonderful product. I recently bought this to use on my cat because he gets really bad ear mites and it works amazingly. After the first use, my cat was extremely happy and relieved that he had clean ears. It's very easy to use and lasts a long time! I think it is well worth the price and it's nice knowing that they use only natural ingredients and is alcohol free. Yes, some cats will run and scratch their ears after it's applied but, that is to be expected. My cat enjoys getting his ears cleaned while being held but after you put him down, he will run and hide and scratch but that is only because he's getting a liquid substance in his ears and is just getting used to it. The ear cleaner I bought at the store contained alcohol and burned; my cat cried every time I used it. His ear was so bad though, and he was cutting it from scratching so much, that I had to do something. I found this product and bought it as a "last resort", just looking for anything to help his ear without hurting him along the way. This product is fantastic! It smells good (simple, not full of alcohol) and is not harsh. My cat doesn't cry like he used to and his ear is clearing up so much faster than with the other products. but his opinion shouldn't be trusted, if only because he seems to hate it slightly less than any other product i've tried. at least this bottle, he doesn't flee to dark corners of the house to avoid when he sees me grab it; he merely darts a few feet away, ears flat, and endures me grabbing him and laying him belly-up on my thighs to administer it. i like that it has a mild scent (most don't), and it does indeed seem to get his ears cleaner than other products. it also seems to bother him far less after the fact - the glares are milder, the head shaking a little less violent, the grudge a little shorter in duration, after i use this product versus the five i've tried previously. i'm hoping that eventually he'll embrace it and actually begin to ENJOY room temp liquid being poured into his ears, but for now, i'll settle for the fact that i don't have to hunt for him for three hours and then go to urgent care for the cat scratches after i eventually capture him to apply it. that alone translates to four stars. ... show more

    • Seems to be working but smell is too strong

My cat has been struggling with itching of the ears for quite some time. He has patches of fur missing and is scratching at the base of the opening of his ears. He has had a few treatments of mite medication at the vet but it didn’t take care of the problem and had negative side effects. I was trying to find a more natural solution and came across this product. For now, I do notice less itching but his ears are still pretty hot to the touch so that tells me that they are still bothering him to some degree but it’s only the second day of treatment. The product does have an extremely strong smell, especially for those of us with a sensitive nose. That would be myself and my CAT, who the product is made for. Why in the world someone would make a strong smelling ear solution for cats, who are very sensitive to smell, is beyond me. Less fragrance would be nice. Other than that, no complaints so far but it’s only been two days. Will update my review after the one week mark. Fingers crossed that this works. For the love of Pete, please pump the brakes on fragrance being added to products for cats. ... show more

I used Petpost Cat Ear Cleaner to first treat my one year old tabby cat for ear mites. This cleaner eliminated the mites and I think that it did the job well. I am also going to be using this product from now on to prevent ear mites. It is made from natural ingredients, which is a big plus! This product works miracles! My two little guys had ear mites, and they were itching their ears until they bled. We bought this to avoid expensive vet bills, and after just 4 consecutive days of use, my boys were back to normal! No more ear mites and no more itching. I still use it once every two weeks or so to keep their ears nice and clean, but the ear mites have not come back. This bottle is huge - well worth the price. Five years ago my dog found three month old kittens abandoned out in the woods around our home in the mountains of N CA, so we scooped them up and brought them inside where they have become fixtures of this place. They live inside as they would be fodder outdoors around here. Recently the now 18lb male started showing discharge and blackish crap in one of his ears, I think it's mites, not sure. Being an advocate of homeopathic remedies I did some looking around and found this on Amazon. I ordered it and it arrived in a couple of days. Started using it immediately and have continued to do so daily for the past ten days. It seems to be working, a lot of crap has come out of his ear daily and there is still some small black stuff in there but the ear now looks pinkish and he's not showing any discomfort. Of course, Cokie protested vigorously. I didn't find it being too sticky as some reported. However, it has a very strong perfume scent. It's not from coconut oil or any other ingredient but perfume.
