    • Holy cow..it works! Chilled food for 3 meals!
I was skeptical. This is a new product... different than the packs of ice-style alternatives...you plug it in, and it's DONE! Fill it up - upwards of 3 meals - and you're good to go. There are three "sections" inside the machine that a 3-section plate sits atop. The cold plate underneath chills two of the three sections. The third, is the un-chilled area so the colder food can turn, then warm-up for 30 minutes before the door opens. Voila! You can program it each day, or just adhere to a schedule. It's completely customizable. OR, you can manually open the door via the app., then manually close it. Otherwise, you configure how long the door is open - feeding time - and even if your pet is still feeding, the sensors detect the small movement and will NOT close the door until it stops. We tested it for a few days, got him used to the "ding dong" bell and quiet click, whirr of the door opening, and now he knows those sounds mean FOOD! Dry food is easier... and a pet that won't wolf it all down in a second.. you don't need this. We can't dump a pile of food for our kitty and hope all works out. He'll simply gorge himself on it, throw up, and be miserable. No dry food... just wet... 1, 3oz can per section on the plate w/a bit of water added...done. He's a sloppy eater, so he manages to push food up and over the plate section...so...there are crumbs leftover. Big deal. VERY easy to clean. In fact, it's cleaner than the bowl and the usual mess he makes. So far, so great! We've only tested it for one meal at around 3pm when we're not around. The real test will be 2 or even 3...for the whole day - E.g. if we go to the beach, or something. We'd still have a sitter if we're gone overnight, but even then... the sitter can't come at certain hours, so...use this thing and they can arrive at normal times, leave, and he'll still be fed at the proper time. For us, that's 9am, 3pm, and 11pm. Not sure about chilling the third meal, because it'll be over the un-chilled section of the plate below... but... again, just make that the first feeding zone. He doesn't mind the machine...any noise - it's whisper-quiet - or how tall it is - he's used to eating lower to the floor. The transformer that plugs into the extension cord we set up...gets VERY warm. It's not hot enough to burn anything, but it's much warmer than expected. This is likely due to the energy required to run what is essentially a small refrigerator. So far, so great... and we are very thankful for the invention! ... show more

Update 3/7 I’m reducing my 4 stars to 1. Not only did the unit stop working in less than 7 months, I’m also gettin no response from Petlibro. Multiple email requests and request through their support site have gone unanswered. It’s unfortunate, because other than the cooling unit failing, I really liked the product. Update 3/2/25. I’ve had this unit for 7 months now and today I went to clean and refill and found a blue tint in the food wells. It looks like some sort of mold. I also notice the unit wasn’t cold like it normally is. Every Sunday I thoroughly wipe down the unit and dust the side vents. I know the issue isn’t a result of clogged air vents. I have an email into Petlibro for support. I’m concerned that my pet may have eaten moldy food and also that it’s been less than a year and this product is already failing. ************************ Update: my ginger has finally figured out the dispenser and is eating from the unit without any issues. At 4am I hear him make a mad dash to the kitchen just seconds before the dinner bell. I think he hears the door sliding open! Absolutely love this feeder. **************** I really like the petlibro wet cat food dispenser. Its modern design and easy setup/maintenance are features that I appreciate. The app tells me how many times my cat visits the unit to eat and the duration. I also like the option of the smart notification feature that sounds every xx minutes for 10 minutes, and stopping when your pet starts eating. The main reason for purchasing this unit was so that I didn’t have to getup every morning at 4/4:30am to open a can of wet food. The first morning I walked my cat to the dispenser to show him his food. He was quite skeptical and didn’t really eat so I scoped out the food and placed it in his regular bowl. The next morning I walked him over a minute before the dispensed time so that he’d hear the bell. He still wouldn’t eat. 5th morning I realize about 5am he hadn't eaten much so I walk him over and watched him eat. I noticed that he had to cock his head to the side to eat. As I watched, I realized the compartment area is kinda small for his head and I think he’s experiencing whisker fatigue. I scooped the rest of the food out and placed it on a paper plate and he ate it right up. I don’t mind getting up at 4am until he gets the hang of the feeder but if he’s having difficulty eating from the unit, I will need to send it back. We are on day 8 now, and I’m working with him to associate the “dinner bell” to the unit. He’s still not getting it but he is a ginger after all. It might take a little more effort.
