  • Whisper-Quiet Fountain with a Large Tank—Even My Skeptical Cat Came Around
Color: Black Size: Cordless Fountain
I love this fountain! I originally purchased it because I already have a corded fountain downstairs, but I wanted a cordless option for my kitchen. The motion-activated feature really appealed to me because the water doesn't run continuously—it only activates when it detects activity, which keeps the water fresh. The biggest challenge wasn't the fountain, it was my cat. She's very sensitive to anything new, and when I first set this up, she wanted absolutely nothing to do with it. The fountain is motion-activated, so when she cautiously approached it for the first time, the sensor detected her and the water suddenly started flowing. That was enough to send her backing away in a hurry! She looked at me as if she was saying, "Did you see that?!" From that moment on, she treated the fountain with extreme suspicion and wanted nothing to do with it. For more than a week, I left the fountain out alongside her regular water dish. She would go out of her way to avoid the fountain, taking a wide path around it just to reach her old bowl. At that point, I was convinced it wasn't going to work. I decided to move the fountain to a location where I could keep it plugged in so it would run continuously. Even then, she avoided it for several more days. Then, on the very day I was considering returning it, she finally approached it and took a long drink. I was thrilled! That was the breakthrough we needed. Since then, she's been using it every day. I'm gradually moving it toward the location where I'd prefer to use it in cordless mode, and I'm hopeful she'll eventually become comfortable with the motion-activated feature as well. Baby steps! As for the fountain itself, I'm extremely impressed with the quality. The water reservoir is generously sized, which means less frequent refilling, and the design looks like it will be very easy to clean. I haven't needed to do a full cleaning yet, but I appreciate that it comes with a small brush for reaching all the little corners and crevices. What stands out most, however, is how incredibly quiet it is. In fact, I can't hear it at all unless I'm standing right next to it. Even then, what I'm hearing is just the sound of the water flowing, not the pump. If you're looking for a well-made, nearly silent fountain with the flexibility of cordless operation, I highly recommend this one. Even if your cat is a little suspicious of new technology, don't give up too quickly—mine eventually decided it was worth the risk! ... show more

  • Not quiet -- it's silent!
Color: Black Size: Cordless Fountain
Pre-washed all the pieces before assembling -- unit is easy to put together. Comes with a tiny brush to help with routine maintenance cleaning that is recommended bi-weekly. Filters are easy to install but should be pre-soaked to reduce tainting the water. Our cat was initially put off. (I would recommend cycling water for 2-4 hours, then rinsing the filters and fountain again to clear any lingering "flavor".) The 2-piece configuration with power and inductive pump motor is a great configuration. You can remove and refill or service the upper water container and not worry about having the electrical portion exposed to water: i.e. the water basin sits on the power/electromagnet base and can be removed separately. The inductive pump motor sits in the water basin and pushes water up the outflow spout above to serve your cat. The sub-pieces of the water basin and pump can be removed and separated for cleaning then reassembled. The unit is silent -- not just quiet as compared to our previous cat fountain. Even the outflow from the spigot falls so quietly that it seemed to unnerve our cat. It took several days for him to get used to using it (which included the use of treats to get him close to the unit). Because the proximity switch makes him jumpy as it starts when he gets close, we've opted for continuous running -- continuous flow only occurs if the unit stays plugged in. The unit is smaller than expected for 2.5L but works well for our single cat household. The base will alert you with lights when it needs to be recharged (if running on battery) or if water level is low. Very nice unit and highly recommended ... show more

  • Good replacement
Color: White Size: Pump
Works as advertised. Same part as one that comes with the original fountain. Needed to replace the motor after 2 years. Noticed that the flow was weak even after replacing filters but once we replaced the motor/pump the flow went back to being strong. A bit pricey for what I think it is but it’s not something you buy very often. ... show more

  • Almost perfect!
Color: Black Size: Cordless Fountain
This is an almost perfect fountain for me and my 2 cats. I love how much water they are both drinking now and that is the most important thing really. The reason I took a star off was for a couple of minor reasons... The first reason is I can't see the water level in the tank at all, and I have not been able to consistently rely on the indicator light to tell me that the water is too low. I have the fountain set up under a little table for my cats because that's where it works for us so if I need to check the level before my weekly cleaning and refill I have to move the table, I'd really like to be able to get a visual instead. Considering how much they are drinking now, I'm ok with this minor inconvenience even though I shouldn't have to be for the price I paid. The second reason I took off the star is for the reliability of the sensor while the fountain is placed on the floor. When I have the fountain unplugged and the unit placed on the floor my cats were not always able to get the sensor to turn on the pump and have it start to curculate. I read that sometimes placing the base on a little mat or something will resolve this issue but one of my cats does not allow those and will scratch and pull any type of mat out from under her food or water dishes and create a huge mess for me. So I have the fountain in the front room now on the carpet and we have no problem at all with the sensor. After using the fountain for a bit we decided to leave it plugged in and let it keep circulating because it is getting them to drink more, and because it is so quiet and the one cat who was so skittish around every other fountain we have tried in the past was totally fine with this one. There's no splash to scare her! The deal I got when I bought this came with the filter replacement parts and for some reason the little black filters are quite different than the one that was in the original fountain. The replacements are very thin and porous and let more particles through. I'm going to be contacting PETLIBRO about this because I'm not the only one who has noticed this and I would like to know why. As far as cleaning, it's so easy I feel like I'm forgetting to do something!! I absolutely love the ease of the unit and that makes me almost as happy as seeing how much water my cats are drinking now! Bottom line, no battery in the water... Cats love it... I love it! Great fountain! ❤️ ... show more

  • Super Easy to Clean!
Color: Black Size: Cordless Fountain
This is, by far, the best cat water fountain I’ve ever owned, and I’ve owned at least 6 different fountains over the past 10 years. It is extremely easy to set up, easy to fill, and easy to add water. It’s also very quiet and was the first water fountain that did not scare my black scaredy cat who’s afraid of her own shadow. It’s also ridiculously easy to clean! It took me less than 5 minutes to disassemble and clean the well, pump, and stainless steel water tray. I was done before the new water filter was done soaking in water (the manufacturer recommends soaking the filter in water for 5 minutes, followed by rinsing for 30 seconds). The manufacturer recommends completely cleaning the entire fountain and pump every two weeks. This will be an easy schedule to stick to because of the ease of cleaning the entire unit. In the past, I dreaded cleaning our water fountains because they weren’t easy to clean. This fountain was designed to have no 90° walls or corners that are hard to clean and get any and all gunk out of. The pump comes apart completely and easily for easy and convenient cleaning. Everything goes back together quickly and is ready for the new filter in a snap. The manufacturer claims that you should only have to fill the fountain once every two weeks, but we have three very thirsty cats, so I refill it every couple of days. It would probably last the two weeks if it was used by only one cat. The base has a battery strength indicator, which is helpful if you keep the fountain in a spot that doesn’t have access to an electrical outlet. Otherwise, it simply indicates that the power is on and the battery is fully charged. There is also an indicator that lights up if the fountain needs more water added. If you’re on the fence on whether or not to buy this pump, know that it’s truly worth every penny. The ease of cleaning the entire fountain is enough for me to buy this one again and again (we all know that fountains don’t last forever)… but this one may just be the one that does last forever. ... show more

  • Solid performance
Color: Black Size: Cordless Fountain
I’m going to be honest, I didn’t think I was going to like this fountain, but the wireless pump drew me in enough to try it. I’ve had numerous fountains - different brands, different materials - over the past 10 years. Some were more expensive than this one, some were less expensive. So, as I write this review, I’m using the experiences I’ve had with ALL of those fountains for my comparison, and I’ve had the PetLibro for about 2 months now. FIRST: Set up - The set up of this fountain is SUPER simple. The instructions are clear, but you really don’t even need them. Everything is intuitive, and the fountain really only fits together one way. You can’t even put the motor in backwards thanks to the notched design that makes it fit neatly in the bowl. SECOND: Operation - Full disclosure, I’ve only used the constantly on function, so I can only speak to that. It stays plugged in, so I don’t use the cordless function, though I do like that it’s an option. The water flow is excellent, and it is very quiet. The lack of a window to monitor water level is what kept me from purchasing this sooner. I didn’t think the the red light that notifies you when the water level is low would be noticeable enough, but it really is. And surprisingly, the motor shut off when the level is too low actually works. When operating, the fountain is VERY quiet. I don’t hear any motor sound at all, and very little water sound. Refilling is quite simple - you can remove the bowl from the base, remove the top and fill it per the instructions. I know the instructions say not to just top off the water by adding from the top, but honestly, as long as you don’t overfill, I don’t see why you can’t do that in a pinch. I have four small dogs, so we have to refill at least once a day, and it doesn’t need to be rinsed out every day, so I do sometimes just top off. THIRD - and this is the kicker - CLEANING: The one thing that has always been painful about pet fountains for me is the cleaning. The taking apart and putting back together. We have always had at least two fountains, and with some of the fountains we’ve had, cleaning them was a chore. Lots of parts to take apart, clean, replace the filter and put back together. This fountain is SO easy to clean. Fewer parts, easy to put back together, and because of the wireless motor, so much easier to clean without worrying about the power end of a cord getting wet while you’re struggling to take the motor apart for cleaning. This fountain cuts the cleaning time in half at least, and because of the ease of cleaning, I’ve been much better about cleaning more frequently (every two weeks as recommended). For some reason, this fountain also doesn’t seem to get as gross as other fountains I’ve had get. FOURTH - Expense - The replacement filters for this are no more expensive than the filters for other fountains, and you can get them auto shipped, which is nice so you don’t run out or have to remember to re-order. They are smaller than most of the other fountains filters I’ve used as well. I’ve been surprisingly impressed with this fountain, and have replaced two of my three fountains with the PetLibro so far. When that third (least used) fountain dies, it will be replaced with a PetLibro. ... show more

  • Good product
Color: Black Size: Cordless Fountain
I am happy with this item. It has a motion sensor so it only runs when cat is in front of it. The cats seem to like it and I dont have water all over the floor! My vultures try to eat cords - so I am happy this can hold a charge and lasts a good amount of time as well. I have to charge about once a week or maybe every week and a half. This was recommended to me and grateful for the recommendation- heres me paying it forward. ... show more

  • NEEDS A BIGGER BATTERY BUT OTHERWISE GREAT!
Color: Black Size: Cordless Fountain
After years of owning cats, I swear they have a sixth sense about anything that is marketed specifically "for cats" and will promptly reject it! So I wasn't sure if I'd be shipping this "cat fountain" promptly back to Amazon, but.... success! Our Napoleon happily drinks from it! I found the fountain to mostly live up to its description: incredibly quiet, reliable, super easy to clean and refill and, dare I say, sleek and stylish-at least for a cat fountain. Where it falters is in the battery life--I'm getting less than two weeks instead of the estimated month. Here's the issue: to conserve battery life, the fountain starts flowing for 45 seconds whenever it senses something near it AND once per hour, regardless, so the water never stagnates. However, if your cat's water is in an area that you walk by frequently, then the fountain will flow EVERY time you pass by it, using up battery life much more quickly. Apartment dwellers often don't have much choice in where they position things, so keep that in mind. A light on the front of the fountain will glow red when the battery needs to be recharged soon, so you don't have to guess or wait til the fountain stops working. However, even with much less battery life than I expected, this fountain is a keeper... but they should consider doubling the battery size for future models. Suggested tip: when you first get the fountain, you have to plug it in to charge it, and the fountain runs continuously while it's charging. I waited a week before I unplugged, even though it had fully charged in less than a day, so that my cat would see this as his new water source. Now he has learned that the fountain will start flowing when he gets close to it. (And if you have an outlet near the fountain, you can also leave it plugged in and flowing full time if you wish. I don't have that option.) A couple of final notes: keeping the water clean requires the changing of two custom filters every two weeks. This is a snap to do, but the cost for 4 months worth of filters is currently about $30 on Amazon. So consummables for this fountain will run you about $90 per year. Third party filter brands are cheaper, but hard to know if they will provide the same level of filtration as OEM, and I'm not going to take a chance with my cat's water supply to save a few bucks. Also: I've read some reviews that complain about leaking and I don't see how that's possible. The tank is a solid piece of plastic and unless it has been cracked, there's no way it can leak. Thanks for taking the time to read my review and I hope you find it helpful in making a buying decision. ... show more
