I have a black lab and a chiweenie (Chihuahua and dachshund mix) at home. My Chiweenie (Lily) has TERRIBLE seasonal allergies ALL year round since we live in a climate where things are always blooming and it’s very humid. Lily’s allergies were getting SO bad she kept CONSTANTLY licking/biting her paws and scratching her whole body (including her face) to the point where she was drawing blood. I used to have a West Highland White Terrier and they are notorious for skin allergies and ear infections (from environmental allergies) but unfortunately I never discovered this product. Lily and Bella (my lab) have been on this supplement for only 2 weeks and Lily’s itching and biting have completely stopped! I’ve tried everything before this - from going to the vet and getting frequent steroid shots (please don’t do this since this is what caused my West Highland White Terrier, Rex, to develop diabetes wherein we had to give him insulin twice a day and he eventually passed from complications. I’m not totally bashing steroids but it does ruin the pancreas after the chronic use of steroids.) I’m so glad I found this since I was getting desperate since as I said I’ve tried everything. I have never fed them people food and they’ve always been on a premium diet of salmon as the main ingredient. Never get dog food with any grain or “by products” in it. Right before I went searching on the internet and found this product, Lily would come to me with a bleeding wound in her ear or on her body/face. When I first read all the reviews I said to myself “yeah right, this stuff isn’t going to work as well as everyone is saying since I’ve tried everything especially since I have the climate we live in working against us and she is allergic to grass on top of it! I’m happy to say I was wrong :). Please try this product if your animal is suffering. Especially before you go down the vet route. Between the cost and the drugs that they will pump your animal with, unfortunately there are always side effects. I’ve also noticed that Lily is much calmer since she’s not on edge from itching and constantly being uncomfortable. The only thing of course is the smell since it is fish but it’s fine. Both my dogs LOVE the taste so that won’t be an issue trying to get your pet to ingest them quickly plus the product is not messy at all. Hope that this helps!

After several months of giving my 20# dog one of these “anti-itch” supplements a day, I have seen no improvement at all in her itching behaviors. But on the plus side, she absolutely loves these little treats, so I have used them as a daily reward each morning for learning and practicing “sit” and “stay” commands. (Now we’re starting a monthly allergy injection trial at the vet for 3 months to see if that helps.) Anyway, great treat for training, but no signs of any allergy or itch relief. Vet said they had no info on these either, so they neither encouraged or discouraged giving them to my dog.

Our Pug started scooting around and we'd have to take to vet to have his glands expressed. It was a rare occasion at first increased over time it got to every other month. We have this a shot and we've never taken him back to the vet for this and we've never seen him scooting around again. We have a recurring order of it now and he takes it everyday.

I love everything about this!! I bought this because my puppy wouldn’t stop itching and tried vegetable oil and it worked but, didn’t want to give to him that everyday. Our Rotty has very bad allergies & we aren’t big into giving our dog steroid shots like the vet suggested. I came across these and read a bunch of the reviews so decided to try them. Our dog loved the flavor, and by day 4 the allergies seemed to be getting better. She shakes her ears constantly when her allergies are acting up. The reason I am leaving 3 stars instead of 5 is that these treats upset her stomach so bad that she could not “hold it” in time to go outside. She had diarrhea all over the house. Our dog is housebroken & lets us know if she needs to go outside more than her usual 4 times a day schedule she is on. She apparently wasn’t able to let us know in time that her stomach was upset and the mess around the house was really bad. We have stopped using this product. If you have an outside dog this product may work for you but for us it will not. Hope this review helps someone in their decision to purchase as I didn’t see anything that talked about it upsetting their fur baby’s belly.
