The mats definitely stay in place and I love that. I accidentally ordered two, but I stuck with it because I realized I have a dachshund and he's going to need the length and support. Before the mats I noticed he would try to relax and sit while he ate, but the floor was probably too uncomfortable and he stood back up. The 12" long mats aren't that length as advertised. But together they almost made 24" and that should be alright when my dachshund gets older. If he exceeds that length I will purchase another. These mats are very good quality and easy to wipe down. Very durable as well. Did not give it five stars though because it's not the length as advertised, but I can deal with that- a lot of mats I saw weren't cute or good quality like this one. ... show more

I got this for my Lab puppy but it was soon replaced with a plastic tray to keep the water and food contained when she makes a mess (or just runs into the dishes). This mat isn’t really that absorbent and leaks through. I’ll still use it for my cats I guess.
