Installed on wooden interior door. Had to cut large hole in door using the provided template so power tools were required. For thick, hollow doors you may also have to fill in the gaps on the inside of the door hole you cut. Good price but its made of plastic so I hope it lasts since I cut hole in door. Should not be used where security is required such as an exterior door. Our Aussie Shepard = 50 lbs and 19" tall fits easily through this door. He uses it all the time. ... show more

the doggie door comes in two halves, inside and outside, you cut the hole in the door then screw the two halves to each other, with one half on each side of the door, in my case, the supplied screws were way too long, there is a short set, and those are way too short, I had to cut 10 of them to size, then its a little hard lining up the screws with the screw holes in the other half, its hard to see, , you'd expect them to line up after you get all the corner screws in, but nope, some of the holes are a bit off, I had to angle the screws to get them in the holes, you'll need a helper or it will be very frustrating trying to install this, also, there is nothing covering the edge of the hole you cut, the halves don't fully mate, so there's a gap between them leaving the cut door exposed, once I cut the screws to fit, applied thick foil tape over the cut edges, and got this tightened up, it seems like its going to do the job, the locks things are kinda weak, and one side just wont go into the slot, no biggie since I won't be locking this one, 3 stars, it was delivered fast, looks good once installed, it will do the job, but needs improvement sealing the gap and maybe some double sided tape to hold this in place for one person installation ... show more

These doors are very cheaply made, 1 kept falling off its hinges after about 3 weeks, plus no gap filler panel for the door so you see the interior of the door- leaving it looking ugly and a place to collect animal hair and dirt unless you fill it in yourself.

We purchased this door when we decided to redo our screened in porch. We have 3 dogs and they all went through the lower screen at some point, which defeated the purpose of having a screened in porch, specifically if in the south during the heat of summer. Super easy install and extremely durable. We have 3 dogs and the beat it up on the daily. The best part is the locking ability on the outside rim.
