It was so easy that our grandson installed it and made $$ for himself. Our old patio sliding glass door had to be replaced with its owner-supplied doggy door insert (circa 2000). Our new patio door uses a newly manufactured extruded polymer frame and track. They don't make extruded aluminum frames anymore. One has to account for measuring the dog standing front shoulder for the horizontal centerline on the cutout template. It has a telescoping rectangular passageway made of stainless steel with an electrostatically adhered dusting of epoxy that is baked on. One has to determine where the studs in the wall are and if the wiring will be in the way. The inside/outside template placement concept depends on whether you choose to cut out the baseboard to make room for the overlapping flange. That flange necessitates cutting with a reciprocating saws-all or rotating/vibrating with a diamond-coated concrete blade. We had steel mesh reinforced stucco. The toggle bolts require 1/2" holes.
