I needed this tool to replace a starter motor in a 2004 Honda Accord with the 2.4 l engine. On this vehicle the starter is beneath the intake manifold and the larger of the two bolts that holds the starter to the engine (17 mm) is nearly beneath the starter and in a very awkward position that is nearly impossible to access. This tool made the job as easy as it could be and it stood up to the full pressure of my weight (175 pounds) pressing against the handle to break the bolt free. I could not have done the job without this tool. Well made, versatile, easy to adjust, and long enough to provide a lot of torque necessary to free stubborn nuts and bolts. Showed up filthy, beat up, and broken. It's a tool, it's not going to stay clean forever, but it should show up looking like somebody tried. When I first opened the box I looked at the handle and it looked like a dog chewed on it. I needed the tool urgently, so I begrudgingly accepted it, then I pick it up to look it over, and there is a peice of electrical tape over the directional switch for the ratchet...I thought it was just an odd packaging choice. I take the tape off and the switch lever came right with the tape!!! The ratchet spins freely in either direction!!! So I have a job that's not getting done and a car that I can't run for a couple extra days while I wait for a replacement. I did get it used but good condition, so I'm willing to accept some imperfections, but this? ... show more

Does not hold up to what it says 195 ft lbs. I had torqued something to 175 and it broke trying to remove it. Got a new one ordered and sent the broken one back. Great tool but will not be a heavy breaker. I’d say 150 torque is the max

This ratchet is small and thin and that's what makes it good, I wouldn't recommend pulling real hard on it as it's liable to break, I use it for tight spaces and it works great, I have looked at lots of 3/8 ratchets like this and this is probably one of thinnest ones and longest

I had another brand 18” 3/8 swivel ratchet that failed after the 1st use. I used the new PT ratchet to losses up the tensioner for a serpentine belt. I ended up adding allot of torque, and for an extended period of time until by arms wore out. oops serpentine belt was to short. Anyway this tool has proven to be effective and durable.
