Bought it to replace an identical W1612 that rusted after I left it outside with the handle pointing upwards all winter. These are great jacks, rugged, sturdy, oil tight & fairly easy to use with a twist of a handle and I like how the saddle can be temporarily lifted off and replaced with a custom saddle designed specifically for the delicate front cross member of my Austin Healey. My only complaint with the old W1612 was that the nuts holding the front casters against lock washers came easily loose, and one nut fell off & got lost. This resulted in me losing a caster while the jack was being transported and leaving the jack outside one winter because it was too heavy to move around without the caster. I left the handle in the upright position, which exposed some tight tolerance parts which got badly rusted. When I asked if I could purchase new ones, Performance Tool replaced the casters for free, and I attached those new casters with double jam nuts backed in to each other to keep the casters on forever. But it was too late for the rusted hydraulics. So I looked at at least twelve different jacks and decided to order the W1612 because I think it remains the best available. But I've improved it with double jam nuts on the front casters, and if I ever leave it out in the weather the handle will be down (as recommended in the manual). ... show more

Just received (early) and it works really well. I bought a jack from H D that was less $, but did not work well and in my opinion was dangerous. When the car was up and you needed to lower it was almost impossible to get it to lower slowly. This PT jack looks very much like my old (20 + yrs) Craftsman that was leaking and works just as well. Worth the $$$ ... show more

I've had this W1617 3 Ton jack for 20 years and Performance Tool/Wilmar still sells this floor jack. I've contacted Performance Tool and Summit Racing and neither can help with a seal kit. There was a W1617CK kit available but no one seems to know anything about it. How can this very same model be sold today and no repair kit is available. It's been a great jack but I can't find the correct O-ring and fluid is leaking all over. Not sure I'd buy another of their products now if you can't find parts ... show more
