It was easy to chew. It pulled apart without having to gnaw at it. I could pull it apart easily with my hands if I needed to. Very soft. Has nice flavor that has some heat to it but it fads away fairly quickly within a few minutes after not eating it anymore. Very enjoyable and all that’s left is a empty bag. I loved the fact that these aren't cut into smaller pieces, but are long strips. They were... easy to indulge in. A bit too easy, maybe. I found these jerkies to be a bit too "candied", with almost like a candy coating crunch. It wasn't bad, I'd never tried a 'sweet' peppered jerky before so the experience was interesting. However, I feel like there was just so much seasoning that I couldn't really taste the meat at all. Big strips, interesting mouthfeel (slight crunch), peppered jerky is great, but overall I think it felt too much like candy, and I felt that there was so much seasoning that it actually detracted from price per ounce. ... show more

Pros - Low salt. This is the reason I bought it. None of us need the salt bomb that many beef jerkys contain. - Most of the strips are very tender. Almost like you are eating filet mignon. (Some people might not like that. I did but I also like a dry, brittle, jerky more than this) Cons - Holy sugar! Why why why? The product would taste so much better and be so much healthier with 1/3 the amount of sugar. It was just a terrible idea to use this much sugar. Do you want beef or a candy bar? - Some of the pieces in the bag were too thick and fatty and awful to chew. All in all I do not think for this price I would order it again. My quest for a low salt jerky continues. Any suggestions? ... show more

Jerky is a largely subjective field. This brand just isn't for me. I will comment on its salient features as I observed them: 1. Soft. Fortunately, this isn't grocery-store soft, where it's almost pre-chewed and taffy-like. Still, I was expecting the old-school "leathery-chew" kind, which this didn't deliver on. It's not grossly soft; just not what I expected. 2. Fatty. Many of the pieces had large nodes of fat in/on them. I didn't mind at all and actually liked the texture variation! I suspect many people would find it off-putting however. As I said: it's subjective. 3. Sweet! This was an odd surprise and it is why I won't be ordering this again. These jerky were sickly sweet! It tastes almost like sucralose (it wasn't, but really it tasted like diet soda to me! ugh!). I buy independently-labeled food to get away from the sweeteners that are everywhere in mainstream food, and it was really disappointing. ... show more

I am super over the top stoked to have found People's Choice Jerky! I eat way more jerky than average consumer should eat and all of their flavors I'd amazing! This one is sweet and spicy and yummy!
