I bought this to hold fragile decorations and figures. It works really well for this purpose. The biggest flaw is the feeding lid - opening it is awkward and difficult due to the handle (pictured). If they would change that, it'd be almost perfect. I imagine that it would be a good enclosure for small animals, as it's sturdy, durable, and fairly secure. Pushing the feeding lid up from the inside MIGHT be possible if your animal is super determined, so if you're using this as an enclosure, I would suggest putting something weighted on the feeding lid portion. ... show more

I ordered this habitat for my 8 year old son's Pill bug. The first one I ordered came cracked at the corner. It was still holding up, but would have leaked had we added water. When I contacted Amazon they sent me another one and told me to keep the broken one. The new one came in perfect condition, and my son has had an easy time opening and closing it.     • The little doors are a hassle to open with one hand. The handle being up seems to help.

It was packed very well. Air pillows inside then 2 different layers of bubble wrap. In a sturdy box inside another box. No cracks whatsoever. Going to be using it to keep crickets in. Also I guess I didn’t pay attention to the size. It’s pretty big, so I’d say pretty good value too.

This was purchased for my adventurous six year old daughter, who is always catching creatures outdoors. Her older and younger siblings use it with her quite a bit as well, so it gets nearly daily use. Though it has taken some minor damage over the last six months (top lid broke one "arm" off pretty quickly, but still closes and there's a crack along the top corner of the cage itself now that hasn't grown at all since it occurred), it has held up pretty well to being carried around constantly outside, filled with temporary land and water habitats, being transported to multiple locations we've traveled to, etc. I'm hoping it makes it at least another six months, as she really loves it! ... show more

This serves the purpose of what I need it for, but it was disappointing to find that there was no lid on it, which I had read, but had forgotten when I finally placed the order. I also agree with other reviewers that the plastic is fairly thin. I’m using this as a temporary home for pregnant almost birthing or birthing guppies, so it’s not a long term holding tank, so I can live with these factors for the price. I however, personally wish that they would update the photo to not show a lid as I feel that that is very misleading. ... show more

I homeschool. We used this for earthworms and for watching tackles turn into frogs! We even had an occasion where a bird flew into our window. We went out picked him up and put him in this container to bring him inside and warm him up. Happy to report that the bird was let loose within about 5 minutes.
