Great rod. It looks good, does what it is supposed to do, fit and finish are excellent, I have no problem catching and pulling 40 to 50lb king mackerel and big black drum here at Kure Beach NC. I will definitely purchase another one of these for a extra rod for backup. And they are only $40 bucks. Exceptional value. Even if it is made in China, it is still a great rod for the price point. Unless you abuse your equipment, this should last a long time. I have a 114H 6/0 Penn Senator mounted on mine, which is the heavy action, up to 80lb line, and it has performed phenomenal so far. I got this rod the other day and decided to see how it would do Kokanee fishing. Since Kokanee fish are known for their soft mouths, you need a flexible rod that will not let them spit the hooks. I ran this and another rod to help judge the performance. With this rod I landed every fish that took the bait, with my other rod I was not so lucky.
