My experience with the different throttle controllers on the market is varied but most looking for a performance upgrade can agree that drive-by-wire throttle systems can be a little "laggy" . This is what they fix. The Pedal Commander I'm looking at now for the Ford gives the rig a pop that matches its turbo powered engines well and takes that bit of single turbo lag out and gets you scootin'. It's less of an issue with twin turbos but they tend to always have some improvement. It can also add a little something to the pedal to enhance fuel savings if you need it in stop & go traffic, that "morning commute" kind of frustration. Adding it is simple and shouldn't take more than 10 minutes or so. Keeping your eyes on the road when working through the various options will be the hard part. I've found that most of the time you settle on a performance choice based on what you're doing like daily diving, towing, or winter weather, etc.

All I can say is OH WOW!!! Only had it on sport mode so far. Haven't tried sport plus or extreme. This makes all the difference in the world. If your on the fence about getting one, do it, you will be happy.

This product is definitely worth the money! I have thus paired with my K&N cold intake on my 2011 Ford Explorer XLT and what a difference in throttle response. This allows my Explorer to just get up and go. You dont gain more power with the pedal commander, but it does allow the horses to be unleashed without lag time. I couldn't be more happier with my purchase!

My 2011 Explorer has always been sluggish. This device made it way more responsive. It's like I'm driving a new car. If you have lag when you accelerate, this will fix it.

I was not sure what to expect but oh my it has added so much throttle response you will swear you have tuned your engine. Very happy with it and I use sport mode all the time.

For some reason, these are viewed as changing vehicle emissions, which they definitely do not. The Pedal Commander is a great investment if you want to customize your driving experience without heavy modifications. It’s definitely given me more control over how my Explorer performs, and it adds a fun, flexible edge to the ride. Sport+ is a pretty good setting to run. Eco is great for road trips. It installs in minutes and just manipulates throttle response. It works. Get one if you want to put a little pep in the step like the title says.
