I have a Toyota Tacoma 2024TRD sport and this item works perfectly for my make and model. Having the system set to city mode, completely eliminate the lag between pedal to engine. I’ve only had the system for a few days. It is easy to install and very effective at this point in time. I have not encountered any issues yet. So far I can recommend this item in city mode does actually improve driver experience. The lag tends to come back if you have it in sports mode or extreme sports mode. Then the system is very sensitive to the amount of pressure you apply on the pedal. In city mode, the vehicle performs just as I hoped it would. No issues at this time. Will report if anything changes in the future. If you have had issues with this item in city mode, that means your vehicle has had prior issues before the installation of this product. Recommend taking care of those issues before installation of product. So far can’t complain.

Just installed the Pedal Commander for 3rd Gen Tacoma. For the initial test, I left it turned off to gauge the stock throttle response...and it was very laggy, as usual. I then went to Sport mode at the lowest setting -POW!...it made a huge difference right away. The throttle was crisp and immediate. Next was Sport+ at the highest setting, and SHAZAAM! -the Tacoma launched very aggressively. I will settle on regular Sport mode on setting +2, as that for me has the best response to pedal feel. This is truly an amazing product that works exactly as advertised! I'm so glad I bought this! (July 11, 2025).

I’m running a 3 inch lift on 285s on my 2021 TRD sport. My drive to work is about 45 mins and involves a lot of hills on the highway. The shifting on the 3rd gen’s when it comes to hills everybody knows it just sucks and kills gas. When I run the truck in ECO mode I can definitely see a difference. It really helps the truck shift and stay at lower RPMs. So far after 200 miles I’ve gotten 2-3 MPGs better. Installation is probably the easiest thing you’ll do on your truck also. I believe this product definitely is worth the money if you drive a lot on the highway and are looking for better shifting and better MPGs. Worth the money. There’s no need for the app really bc it just sucks, they do need to update that.

I was looking for a little more response from my throttle, and having the truck tuned was a little out of budget/no local tuners. Absolutely works as intended. Couple of things I would have liked to have known before purchasing... 1. The Sport and Sport+ mode will cause you to spin out from a dead stop if you don't have decent tires. City -2 is plenty to remove throttle lag from a dead stop and give your vehicle a sportier feel (at least in a 21 Tacoma Sport). 2. This device does not differentiate between drive and reverse. You will rocket backwards out of a parking spot if you are not careful. This in particular keeps me out of sport mode, and why I leave a 4 instead of 5 star review.

So I found Pedal Commander as I was looking for a tuner for my 2017 Tundra. I was looking hard at the Bullydog but alas they don't have a tuner compatible with my 2017 Tundra and I wasn't positive I wanted to drop between $500-$700 bucks for one (don't get me wrong, Bullydog is sweet I just was nervous about that price point). Anyhow, I landed on Pedal Commander and kept coming back to the Amazon page for about three weeks. I was reading the reviews and watching the videos but I just couldn't convince myself to pull the trigger. Finally, I decided that if the Pedal Commander can do what it says from a gas savings perspective, it's a no brainer and would pay for itself pretty quickly so I pulled the trigger. The Pedal Commander arrived yesterday - well packaged and early! I was stoked!!! So I unboxed everything and followed the instructions to the letter and in 10 minutes I was ready to road test. I'll note here that I unlocked my truck from in the house, left the keys in the house and installed the Pedal Commander in the driveway (the key fob can create issues). Installation was ridiculously easy. Two connections and a little cable snaking and you're in business. Once in, I grabbed the keys and of course set it on Sport + setting +4 and the truck literally jumped off the line. I was AMAZED!!! I took it around the neighborhood and tested all the settings and I am over the moon with how sweet this little controller is. While I know it's not providing any additional power, the throttle response is so snappy, it absolutely feels like it. Now my problem is, I'm loving driving it in City 2+, I don't know if I'll ever realize the gas savings that I was purchasing this for initially but I don't care! I would very honestly and sincerely recommend this controller to anyone who is looking to really maximize the potential of your vehicle's throttle response without a ton of time or expense. While I realize that $300 is not cheap, once you have this little beauty installed, you won't regret spending it. This controller does exactly what it says it does and is well worth the money!!! Do it! You won't be disappointed. Super satisfied customer here.

I was excited to make this purchase for my 2021 Tacoma. It had great reviews. But of course I never got it fully installed to see if it help. My issue was the Pedal Commander plug refused to click into my truck plug at the pedal. I contacted Pedal Commander via chat and spoke with Sena (probably and AI bot) explaining the situation, IT sent me two videos, that I already watched. Then when I recontacted Pedal Commander, IT said "If you cannot connect the plug then have a mechanic install it." Well my neighbor is a mechanic it and he couldnt get it to click in. It was like their plug was not centered correctly so the male and female end would slide and click into place. So after Great customer service from. Pedal Commander, I decided to send it back for a the Amazon refund.
