The take off on a Tacoma Pre-Runner 4 cyl is not anything to brag about. The throttle really stinks. Long story short, I installed one of these on my wife’s truck. There are numerous settings for you to choose from. I run mine on the high side and it completely eliminates the hesitation that the factory throttle response has!! It is literally a different driving experience!! I'm an experienced driver who is 49 years old and has had more than 50 different vehicles. Not a noob. This is a great investment and takes all of 10 minutes to install! NOTES: This DOES NOT increase horsepower or torque. Your only realistic expectation should be that it will drastically improve throttle response, particularly from starts or low speed. I have only filled the tank once since installing it and my gas mileage is roughly the same as it was before. If you choose a less aggressive setting than I did, you might see an improvement in fuel economy. That's not why I bought it. I bought it for improved throttle response. ... show more

I read numerous reviews before purchasing this somewhat pricey device. I have to say I didn't expect such a huge difference in performance. I realize that it doesn't increase horsepower, but the throttle response is so dramatically improved that it feels like it does. I settled on the Sport mode +3 and literally had to re-learn to drive it, but now I wouldn't drive without it. It made a different truck of my 2015 Tacoma Off-Road. I wasn't interested in fuel mileage so that's not a factor for me. I've seen the controller mounted in various places so I've included a photo of where mine is located and it works well there. The pedal commander will take the lag out and wake up your Toyota. Easy to install and use can be linked to your phone to make adjustments. My wife just loves it

    • Warranty saving tune alternative.
So far it works good. It doesn’t void warranty like an ECU tune will. It eliminates accelerator lag and increases throttle response. Gas mileage dropped by about 1.5 mpg. It makes driving my 2023 Tacoma more enjoyable.

Let's start with what I like about this product. -It's extremely easy to install. -It definitely made a huge difference in throttle response by eliminating a huge majority of the throttle response time when in every mode except Eco. -Eco mode is basically limp mode but without any mph restrictions. -Sport+ mode is a beast for the 3rd gen Tacoma V6 but if speed is your thing then do you booboo. I currently have mine set to Sport Mode +1 -I purchased this in prime day so the price wasn't too bad. What I don't like - Fuel economy took a huge hit. Went from an average of 16.8 to 14.6 MPG. Overall, if you have the extra funds and are looking to make your Tacoma "faster" then I would highly recommend this product. ... show more

Hardest part of the install was waiting for my ecu to turn off with the door open 🤣 Literally 20 seconds to plug in! I picked up a new to me 2016 Tacoma and I noticed the laggy throttle response, slow acceleration, especially when passing, merging onto the highway etc. I thought it was a truck thing since this is my first truck. Reading online I discovered this is input lag from the digital pedal I am assuming implemented by Toyota to increase fuel efficiency. To me it makes driving the truck feel mushy, slow and unresponsive, mashing the pedal way more that I was used to. After installing the pedal commander I could notice an IMMEDIATE difference! Testing the various modes sport +3 seems to be comparible to what I was used to from my previous vehicle Faster acceleration when I want it, more immediate response when pressing the gas and all around feeling of being more in control and having the truck accelerate how I want it too when I want it to. If you are unhappy with the slow, gimped throttle response I would say this is worth the price for any vehicle! ... show more

Just purchased and installed my new Pedal Commander on my 2019 Toyota Tacoma TRD Pro. So far this device is incredible, and I was skeptical, but this really device works well. In Sport Plus mode, you better be ready because it Rips.
