I bought these two years ago and they have held up well in terms of the lights holding their charge. They need to be receiving as much sun as possible obviously or the charge will be diminished. The light is a warmish white, especially from a distance. Up close because the bulb is a clear Edison style the light can appear harsh on the eyes but they are still one the less warm and not cold white. From a distance they look almost incandescent which is how I use them and why I like them. That said, while these lights appear very bright up close, they do not cast a very wide span of light. They seem to really just cast a glow in the immediate area. Because I use them from a distance, the sloppy paint finish is less bothersome to me. These are not made from true copper, but just a copper paint very clearly painted onto the metal. The brushstrokes are visible, and you can see the color of the underlying metal under the paint. For the price the paint should be applied in a more even, realistic manner, maybe sprayed instead of brushed. It’s very easy to take apart and spray paint any color you like but again at this price point you shouldn’t have to do that. After owning these for two years I can see that the color of the copper has lightened somewhat in the elements, but still appears to be a copper tone. But do know that the Paint/color may change overtime. Because I like the long charge and warm white glow, and because I use these from a distance in my garden, all of the up close issues are less of a concern for me which is why I placed a second order and purchased them again. UPDATE: The longevity of these is short lived. Even with direct sun, the light doesn't last very long. Actually, one has quit working altogether. Disappointed.
