It is sturdy and nice looking with easy to follow picture directions however maybe I misinterpreted the description as it popped up in my search for “”cat tree for large cats”. It is a medium sized tree ( which I wanted) but is definitely not for large cats. It would work nicely for small cats but my 2 medium sized cats - 8 pounds and 11 pounds- cannot access the top of the tree as the side ledges are too tiny. So if you have small cats or kittens it is a nice looking cat tree but anything larger choose something else. Also none of the platforms are cushioned - just covered by fabric *** I am changing my review from 3 to 4 stars as after 3 weeks one of my cats has figured out how to access the top level even with the narrow lower ledge and she loves the scratcher posts and seems to really enjoy it, however my other cat is not limber enough to twist her body to get to the top level. ... show more

I don’t write reviews often, but I felt compelled to share my experience with this cat tree. I have two cats, Milo and Ziggy, and they LOVE it—and even better, they actually fit in it! I previously bought another cat tree that had to be returned because it was just too small for them to enjoy. This one, however, is spacious and perfect for lounging. It has several scratching posts that they use regularly. Some reviewers mentioned that it would be better if the entire structure had scratching surfaces, and while that might be ideal, it hasn’t been an issue for us. The fabric is soft and fluffy, and my cats really seem to enjoy lying on it. Since my cats like to climb the walls (literally), I wasn’t able to anchor it, so it’s free-standing. It does wobble a little when they’re playing rough or jumping into it at full speed, but the base is surprisingly sturdy and heavy—it hasn’t tipped over. One unexpected bonus is the basket feature. I wasn’t sure if they’d use it, but they LOVE it. In fact, they fight over who gets to lay in it! Overall, I think this cat tree is a great value for the money. If I ever needed to, I would absolutely buy it again. ... show more

Well, I went and did it. I bought a cat tree. I have mixed emotions. Most troubling is that the cat just ignores the thing so far the first day. I hope that will change. Now for the good and bad. The good: It was reasonably priced I guess. Assembly wasn't bad; about 45 minutes or so carefully following the directions. That is important. A couple of the wooden cylinders weren't tapped deep enough for the long threaded connectors, but I managed to mix and match them to fit. Also some weren't perfectly centered and didn't align perfectly for assembly. But it came out pretty sturdy when fully assembled. I give it a passing grade. and it looks really nice. There is a plastic strap on the top platform for wall anchoring and it works okay. The bad: Right off you can see that there is no padding whatsoever on the platforms. I'll have to improvise something. The top platform is pretty big, but again no padding except on the border. And for me the biggie; It smells pretty bad. The whole thing. It seems(sniffs?) to be the soft felt like covering. What in Heaven did they use? My nose is not that sensitive, but I can smell it easily. And obviously the cat can too. Maybe the reason he seems to avoiding it. Hopefully it will get better. To sum up, it's sturdy, looks good, and is stable. Cats should like it if they can get past the smell. ... show more

I LOVE IT! AND SO DOES MY BIG OLE KITTY! I have a 15lb cat and he has high energy, and he LOVES it. He loves being up so high, and fits comfortably on the top perch. Easy to assemble, took me ~30 minutes. 10/10 recommend.

Our two Ragamuffins LOVE it. Very sturdy, with a multitude of hard wood and rope on the poles, so they can satisfy whichever urge they have to scratch. Definitely worth every penny!
