  • Superior technology
Color: Basic with Timer Size: 12"-18"
Please do me a favor and buy this brand. Reason #1: SUPER BRIGHT The light is very bright compared to my other aquarium lights. Even the small 12 - 18 inch version is very bright. I will have no worries about lighting power. Reason #2: ON/OFF MEMORY If you turn this led light "ON" and unplug its electrical cord, it will remember to be "ON" next time you plug the electrical cord back to the outlet. This is a great feature that allows you to use an outlet timer in case you want to custom your own timer hours instead of using the built in timer. Many other aquarium lights don't have this feature. Reason #3: LIGHT UP YOUR FISH TANK WITHOUT MESSING UP WITH THE TIMER. Once you set up the timer, you will be able to come back at a different time to turn on the light without affecting your timer' s routine. Most aquarium lights do not have this feature. For aquarium lights that do not have this feature, when you set up the timer, and come back to turn on your aquarium light, the timer is directly cancelled, which is very frustrating forcing you to use a flashlight to check on your fish to avoid the timer to cancel itself. Reason #4: WATERPROOF This is not an underwater light, but at least if I drop the light in water by accident, I can pull it back quickly and have a peace of mind that everything is alright. I wish I knew about this fish tank light before I buy my other fish tank lights. Very good aquarium light, will buy more. ... show more

  • Perfect compact size
Color: Basic Size: 6"-10"
Finally a true mini plant light under 6”. Perfect little light for my 3gallon betta tank. I currently have a snail and two Otto’s living in it tho keep algae at bay. I have it connected to the top of my tank lid with 10 pound Velcro so no issues with it dropping off from weight or high temp. The stock light that came with the tank was horrible. So I got this one to try. I keep it on the medium to low light setting for this tank. My low light Plants are doing very well. Most in this tank are low to medium light plants. I have had it just over two months so far. I am also currently setting up a medium to high light planted tank same tank as in the picture. I will update in a month or so on how the mid-high light plants react to it. Overall I’m very pleased with this little light. ... show more

  • Awesome light for the $$
Color: Basic with Timer Size: 12"-18"
This light is amazing for the price! It has so many light options and timers. I got it for my saltwater tank after my lights went out and it makes everything look so nice. I was really not expecting it to be such a good light, I was just looking for a cheap light to get my fish out of the dark until I could figure something out. ... show more

  • Good adjustable light with timer.
Color: Basic with Timer Size: 12"-18"
Good adjustable light with timer. PROS: Looks good on my small 5.5 gal tank. Low on the lid. Does stick up high. Nice bright light. Fully adjustable brightness. Controls are convenient and work easily. CONS: Brackets are not adjustable or very stable. Says it will fit a 16"-18" long tank. Nope. See pic. My tank is 16 inches long. Brackets are WAY long. I thought about cutting brackets to length, but decided to use "sticky tac" instead as the brackets are not very stable. Stuck it directly to the tank lid. There are not really any directions for the timer. So here we go. Have the light set to brightness you wish. Press the clock button once. Then, press the "M" button once for 8hrs, twice for 10hrs, three times for 12hrs duration. If you want it on 8am to 8pm for instance, you have to set it up at 8am. Then it will shut off at 8pm automatically and continue that cycle from then on. If you unplug it for what ever reason, all settings are gone and you have to start over. Overall, it functions well and looks good. Good buy for the money. ... show more

  • Great Value for Small Tanks, Not Sure About the Light Output Claims
Color: Basic Size: 12"-18"
I think for the way most people will use these lights—on small, shallow tanks—they’ll do just fine. And for the price, it's hard to beat the value. That said, I have serious doubts about the light output claims. The manufacturer lists the brightness in lux rather than lumens, which can be a little misleading. For context: lumens-which is the rating you're familiar with from the light bulb section at the hardware store-indicate total light output, while lux measures light intensity over a given area (1 lux = 1 lumen per square meter). In theory, 2500 lux should mean 2500 lumens over a 1m x 1m area—but without information on mounting height or beam angle to figure out how they were measuring it, it’s impossible to verify. And from my own experience, I just don’t buy it. Not even close. I bought five of these to lay width-wise across a large 165-gallon tank (8' long, 18" deep front-to-back, 24" tall) with euro bracing. I was using the bracing gaps for floating planters in an aquaponics setup, so conventional lighting wasn't an option. Since I also had grow lights mounted above the tank, I thought these LED strips would help illuminate the tank itself. They didn’t. Even sitting directly on the tank’s top, they couldn’t light the bottom any better than the overhead grow lights alone—despite the planters blocking a lot of that overhead light. Comparing their performance to some LED PAR38 flood bulbs I ended up switching to, I’d estimate these Pawfly lights output around 800 lumens when warm, which aligns with the efficiency typical of many LED emitters today (~100 lm/W). So while the performance is okay for the price, I don’t see how they’re hitting 2500 lux as advertised. In short: if I were setting up a small tank on a tight budget, I’d consider buying these again. They’re inexpensive and do enough for what they’re likely intended for. But they didn’t meet my expectations for brightness, and if you're lighting anything over about 12" deep, I think you'd be better off spending a little more for a more capable light. ... show more
