I've had one of these types of curling tools in the past, by Hot Tools. It broke with normal use less than a year later. My hair salon was selling this for $20. more so I was happy to discover it on Amazon for a better price. I bought this for my daughter (who's away at college) for Christmas. I used this on her hair first, then mine. It was love at first curl! It heats up rapidly and is easy to handle. There is a technique to using this kind of curling iron and you may suffer a few minor burns until this technique is mastered. This tool is definitely not for the faint of heart! Our loose curls stayed beautiful (and SHINY!) the entire day, requiring only a little touch up the following morning if needed. I've had flat irons by Paul Mitchell in the past and have never been dissatisfied with their products. It isn't an inexpensive brand, but you really do get what you pay for and the price is absolutely worth it if what you're looking for is healthy-looking beautiful hair. This comes with an odd looking three-fingered heat resistant glove. I found this awkward to use and suggest using a full heat resistant glove, which Amazon sells. Once you master the technique, you will no longer need the glove. I was heartbroken when my daughter went back to school and took this with her (I even 'suggested' that I would probably need and use it more than she would, half-heartedly kind of hoping to guilt her into leaving it) She took it with her and still missing it two days later it haunted me until I gave in and ordered my own.

Im very impressed with this curling wand. I will say though, the first one I got would not heat up past 70 degrees. I received a dud. So I requested to send it back and they sent me out a new one. Thankfully, the new one does work! I love it! It heats up fast and gives the most beautiful curls. One of my favorite things about this wand is that my curls actually last! My hair has a hard time holding curl, but right now I am on day 3 and still have some loose curls! Its amazing. This is my new go to styling tool.

I want to start my review by saying I have never written one for anything on Amazon. I am 39 years old and have had the same straight hair my entire life. I have never been able to use a curling iron, but I did purchase a cheap curling rod from Walmart about a year ago that doesn’t do anything to my hair. This is the best curling rod! I curled it yesterday at 9am and by 11pm it was still just as curled. I have pretty fine straight hair that is very difficult to keep a curl in. I don’t use any mouse or holding spray, just a Lanza smoothing oil to protect my hair from the heat. I have only used 1 attachment, I haven’t tried the others because this works so well! I am terrible at doing my own hair and I cannot say enough great things about this curling rod! I do use the mini glove that it’s comes with so I don’t burn my hands. This I worth every penny! I got mine for $67 on Amazon, although I think it’s gone back up to $99.

This is my second one of this wand! The first one lasted about 7 years! It still works but I think it doesn't get quite as hot as it used to. So that is why I wanted a new one.

I haven't bought a new curling iron in over a decade. Then I asked my stylist to do something different with my hair so she curled it on a wand. I asked her what she recommended because I'm all for investing in a tool if it will last and not damage my hair. She said she'd actually just bought this same set up and that it was a good purchase especially considering the price. I've been impressed with this curling wand. I only use 2 of the 3 attachments but I'm in love. In fact I'm planning on purchasing an additional 1.25" barrel because that's more my style. It gets very hot but doesn't fry my hair. There is a bit of a learning curve if you haven't used a curling wand before but I'm buring my fingers less and less. :) Highly recommend
