Great budget telephoto. I would say this lens is best at portraits and using in the 55 to 105 mm range. At longer ranges out near its maximum of 210 mm it gets very soft. The Ibis works very well and the color reproduction is very good. There are much better options for longer range, but they're also much more expensive so this is a great starter or budget lens. It's perfect to pair with the kit lens or wide angle prime if the majority of your shooting is on the shorter to mid end. ... show more

Purchased a refurbished lens to save a little money. Made extensive outdoor and indoor test of lens and am very satisfied with performance in bright light and indoor lower light conditions. Lens stabilization is excellent. I am a little shaky, and hand held shots at 210mm are sharp and can be cropped extensively. I plan to use lens primarily on trips where many subjects will not be close enough for standard 18-55mm lens. I did not test lens in low light and night time conditions, but don't expect any problems. I bought extended warranty, but lens appears to be in new condition and would not buy extra coverage again. ... show more

The problem I had with my last lens is that the picture quality wasn’t nearly as good as the video quality. This lens does both great! Great value for what I was looking for, best $200 I’ve spent in a while.

My husband bought me this lens before our trip to the Galapagos because we were on a tight budget and knew we would be spending most of the time in the water diving. We are both savvy photographers and for the life of us, could not make this lens work in any scenario that involved movement. The lens would not automatic focus on the object and instead focused on everything and anything else. Out of 100 shots, I would maybe get one that was focused.
