I must admit, I was very apprehensive before buying this heater but I am truly amazed. I was trying to decide between a propane patio heater and an electric one but finally decided to purchase this. This heater works really well for a medium sized patio area like mine. The heat from the IR heater is the comfortable warm and not the burning warm. I like the fact that people sitting close to it aren't feeling really hot while people sitting away are feeling cold. The way the heat dissipates makes an IR electric heater a better choice than a propane one. The heater is quiet and looks very attractive. I love the auto shut off feature and it makes me feel safe especially with so many kids around. I would have rated this a 5* definitely and maybe after another month of use, I may come back and change my rating but for now, the only reason I didn't is because I wish the blower was a little stronger than it is.     • 'Secret' on/off button
I've seen some reviews mentioning 'dead on arrival' units. I thought I had one myself, but after an email exchange with Luwior customer support I learned that there is a button/switch at the bottom on the back that needs to be turned on. It's near where the power cord goes in. I thought it was just an indicator. The buttons on the top, the remote control, and the display do nothing until the bottom switch is turned on.     • Great Patio Heater to Keep Plants Warm
We got this for our screened in patio, so in the winter if the temperature drops in the low 40s or below, we can bring our tropical fruit trees in the patio and keep them warm. We live in South Florida, and we keep our lime trees, orange and lemon trees in large buckets. That way we can move them into the patio if it gets cold out. This heater will plug into a 15-amp power strip with no problem. It does not tip over easily, and if it did, it has built in safety switch that shuts it off. It is also weatherproof, so if you have wind and rain during the night while you are sleeping, there is nothing to worry about. ... show more

As soon as you turn on the L2 setting, you can instantly feel the warmth from about 6 feet away. I also appreciate that unlike my other space heaters, this one is silent. We are currently using it inside so many family members like to turn it on right after their shower since the transition from a hot shower to a cold room is uncomfortable. However, I think this will also be useful if we need to do any cooking in the patio when it's cold outside. The company's customer service was great. Initially I got a broken unit and then the replacement I received was missing the remote, nails and instruction manual. The 2nd time around, I contacted the company and they immediately send me all the missing items. I recommend using the safety grill they provide so that you can ensure people keep their distance when the device is in use.     • Works well on our small patio
We have a long rectangular patio that is only 10 feet wide but 40 feet long, so we needed something smaller that could heat up the area we sit in but not take too much space. This suits our needs very well, and generally we don't need more than the first level (living in Southern California it doesn't get that cold even in winter). Now that the weather has gotten pretty chilly at night, we'll use the higher level, and that heats up about four of us pretty well. We may get a second one for the other end of the deck. It even comes with a security/safety grill to make sure no one bumps into it walking by and accidentally gets burned. I've also used it inside in my den area, and it heats the room up quickly.     • If it can be used "indoors" it's not going to be hot enough outdoors.
I've purchased three different "patio heaters" trying to avoid the hassle and costs of using a propane tank style tower heater. (the type you see at outdoor restaurants) I have had ZERO LUCK. 1500w is not enough for a 14' x 14' screen enclosed patio. Even with no wind and ambient temps at 47f to 52f. None, thus far, can keep it warm. This one only works if placed directly in front of you. That's ONE person of coverage. The beam of heat is so narrow it can only heat one person at a time. This is because you need to place it about 3-feet in front of you. Placing further away would allow it to spread and cover more people, but then the fall off in heat is so drastic, anything more than 3-feet away becomes useless. Just know, if it can be used inside? Could benefit from a small fan, It is radiant heat, and works just fine on the lanai. If it had a blower and rotated 90 to 180°, it would be perfect. You could do better spending less money for the same heat output.
