  • Thoughts on my Achairgo unit
Size: Small
My wife has lost most of her physical mobility & strength & is in mid stage dementia, so getting her to even stand up & move a few steps to be able to get her to sit in her walker chair seat was becoming a major problem as this was the method we used to get around the house & into & out of her power lift recliner & in & out of bed. A Hoyer Lift was recommended & while researching Hoyer Lifts on Amazon came across the Patient Lift Electric Transfer Chair & decided that this would better suit our needs than a Hoyer Lift. I bought the Achairgo unit for 2 reasons 1. It came with a 3 year warranty while some other units offered up to a 3 year warranty at extra cost, which made their cost close to or higher than Achairgo 2. this was the main reason.....looking on a late Fri afternoon, if I ordered within an hour, it would be delivered on Sat instead of Tues/Wen the following week....It was delivered on Sat. It has been a game changer for us. While getting the sling under her while on the bed is a bit difficult because rolling her causes her pain, once the sling is in place lifting her & moving her to her recliner is easy. Once she's been lowered into her recliner the sling is comfortable enough that we don't have to try to remove it. The toilet requires her to stand so the sling can be moved off the toilet & clothes lowered, when done she stands again for the sling to be placed on the toilet (found if lid is lowered, sling is easier to position) & clothes pulled up, then hook the belts to the locking devices & lift. Still getting the hang of the little movements & positioning of the lift chair especially using it around her power lift recliner, so not to get the wheels stuck under the chair (wheel base width is a bit short)....if you have 1 of the wider, fancier recliner lift chairs, you may want to practice positioning the Achairgo with no one in it & remember that even if you don't have a problem position the Achairgo empty, you may have a problem removing it when a persons weight is in the recliner.... Getting her into & out of the car is relatively simple....however if the surface you have to transverse is filled with cracks, small pot holes it can/will be difficult to move the unit We have wood floors in the house & tile floors in the bathroom, going from the wood floors to the tile floor in the bathroom is a bit of a hassle due to the strip covering the gap between the floors, but exiting is no problem. With my wife in the unit we've found trying to cross any area rugs is difficult, thicker the rug, harder to navigate, so we removed all area rugs from the daily path. Overall I'm very pleased with the unit & the relative ease it allows me to move my wife around the house..... ... show more

  • This lift does the job perfectly
Size: Small
My 76-year-old father is in a very bad condition after suffering a stroke, so getting in and out of bed was really tough. I have used the lift for several months, I can easily use it to move between the sofa, wheelchair, and bed through the doors in my home. It make our life so much easier. This lift does the job perfectly. One of the best purchases I've made. Very high quality, safety and durable. ... show more

  • Great equipment to help Toilet Seniors
Size: Small
This piece of equipment has greatly reduced the pain and stress of toilet ming my 89 year old mother with limited mobility. I can easily scoop her up and bring her to the bathroom and then back to bed or chair as needed. I have tried a few times to use it getting her in/out of the car but I find it difficult seating and turning her around once in the car. Other than that, I highly recommend this lift for in the house ... show more

  • A lot safer and less exhausting
Size: Small
I've been using the lift chair for my wife for about 1 year now. She's partially paralyzed after a stroke, and honestly, this thing has been a huge help around the house. Before we got it, every transfer was a struggle. Getting her from the bed to the wheelchair, onto the toilet, or into the car was taking a toll on my back. I'm not a professional caregiver—I'm just a husband trying to do the best I can. This chair definitely made those daily routines a lot safer and less exhausting. What I like most is that it's electric. Raise or lower her to the right height, and I don't have to deadlift another human being every time she needs to move. The sling seat design is also pretty useful for bathroom transfers. That said, it's not perfect. The unit is heavier than I expected. If you're loading it into a vehicle by yourself, you're gonna feel it. Also, if your loved one can't sit upright at all or has zero upper-body control, this may not be the right solution. It's not a miracle machine, and it's definitely not a replacement for a full Hoyer lift in every situation. Another thing nobody tells you—there's a learning curve. The first couple of weeks, I was fumbling around trying to get the positioning right. After some practice, it got much easier. For us, though? It was worth it. My wife feels more comfortable and dignified being transferred in this than hanging in a sling, and my back isn't screaming at me every night anymore. If you're caring for a spouse, parent, or family member who can sit up with some support and you're doing transfers multiple times a day, I'd say it's absolutely worth looking into. Just go into it with realistic expectations. It's a tool, not magic. But for the right person, it can make life a whole lot easier. — A husband and caregiver trying to get through one day at a time. ❤️🙏 ... show more

  • This patient lift is really great
Size: Small
This patient lift is really great. Its features, craftsmanship, and performance are superior to other models. It was very easy to use and operate. This lift helps my staff a lot in carrying the patients to their beds and chairs. Now, it is very easy for us to change patients' beds and chairs when needed. It has good weight capacity and adjustable base. And rolls nicely across floor. ... show more

  • Could be great... but
Size: Small
This could be a great transfer chair for those who can sit in an upright position but are not mobile. It's really great for transfers without having to use a Hoyer. However this chair needs to have the bolts/nuts tightened constantly or nuts and bolts will fall off while in use which is dangerous! One of the wheels stopped working due to issues (which I can't explain) and it became tippy, also very dangerous. For equipment that costs over a thousand dollars, it should be better quality. It could be a fantastic piece of equipment if they fix these issues. ... show more

  • Great lift chair and the BEST SERVICE ever!
Size: Small
Not only a great product, but the BEST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER! My first chair was Ordered in May of 2025. The lift control stopped working. (It's mechanical, so these things happen.) I reached out to Achairgo late Friday afternoon . They responded with a personal letter written by a real person stating that they were sorry for the inconvenience this was causing me and stated what they needed from me in order to resolve the problem. Saturday I supplied the information and Monday morning I had a response. Issue was covered under the warranty, they were shipping the new part with instructions on installation and once again an apology for the inconvenience. Since I was dependent upon the lift for my husband, I ordered this new chair. Thank goodness for Amazon's overnight delivery. Also a note to someone considering this chair: I had a handyman build a solid platform raised to a height that would accommodate the wheels in order for my husband to be able to keep his favorite recliner. ... show more
