I have a 2016 Jeep Compass Sport SE and it fit okay. I'll be honest, I'm not sure if the difficulty with screwing it in was the fault of the bars or just my car being difficult. Both is very possible. But the quality seems alright. No locking mechanism, just screws in. PROS Easy-ish installation Fits okay Seems sturdy CONS It is NOT flush with the car, no matter how tight you screw it in. Kinda thin Hard to screw in (again, could've been my car that was the issue so I'm not holding it against the bars itself) All in all, so far it seems good and I've attached my roof basket a few times with no issues. not even close to fitting a 2017 Jeep Compass. Mounting brackets do not even fit onto side rails and holes are off by an inch in width and .5 an inch in height. It's frustrating when sellers don't even provide an accurate description of their product. Quality is what to expect from the price. Plastic end caps won't survive a summer of sunlight. ... show more

I’m not sure why this has ANY bad reviews. Product arrived as described, is of good quality and I installed it by myself in less than 5 minutes on a 2017 Jeep Renegade. The instructions are not needed as it’s a very simple and straightforward process. Those who cited install problems have no business working on a vehicle by themselves, period. Hints: 1) Ensure the bottom plate is tucked into the piece that sits on top of the cargo rail; this is how the clamp tightens. (2). The knobs only need to be snug. If you followed hint #1 it will clamp down just fine and will not slide. If you unnecessarily over tighten the knobs, you’re going to strip them out and that’s on you. (3). You’re going to have some wind noise, and you will with any cross bars, because science. 10/10 would recommend and purchase again. ... show more
