Very disappointed in this product. Sure, I, like others, had to drill new holes because it was impossible to line up using factory holes but I can live with those flaws. What I can't live with is the frail structure of the design/materials. This is an ornamental bench only. It is NOT designed for actual use. I suspect this was designed by jr high students with absolutely no knowledge of engineered design. The wood slats that make up the bench seat are very thin and weak so they give you 3 tiny steel plates made out of very soft steel to support your weight. This works for my 8 year old son if he slowly sits down but if me or my wife sit on the bench it will sag significantly (and this is new with everything tightened and the sun hasn't wreaked havoc on any of the wood, steel and plastic.) Plastic? On a bench? Yes. Now lets talk about the backrest. Looks so nice in the photos yes? It looks like nice and strong metal. Its not. Its plastic. Which would’t be a serious issue if the backrest wasn't as flimsy! The entire backrest is constructed of two very thin strips of wood with this plastic ornamental piece in the middle. But worse yet its not solid wood. They saved money by joining shorter pieces of wood together to make one longer piece. These joins are extremely weak. So imagine what happened when I leaned back? Crack. The seams that hold the upper wood support broke and now the backrest just flops around when you touch it. It's now only held together by the weak but intact lower wood strip and the aforementioned plastic (metal looking) ornamental piece. I would love to get my money back but there is no way I am going to try and disassemble and box it up. So no. I would not recommend this to anyone.

This bench is smaller than a normal park bench. The seating area is shorter and the back is lower, thus affecting the actual comfort of the bench. On the other hand, I wanted a small bench to accent my yard and not overwhelm it, which this bench does completely. It is a charming asset to the decor and I am pleased with the effect.

This was not properly finished, still covered with sawdust. The finish will not last outdoors it seems to be an indoor varnish. I will re-coat it with spar varnish. The brace is not bent to fit the slats and there are no pre-drilled holes. The back filigree is plastic not metal so after a few years in the sun will crack an break. The wood is very light weight. If you weigh more than 250 lbs I would not sit on this. Also the directions are not very good. For some reason the pictures are printed real tiny so it is hard to see the sequence for the parts.. But it did look nice when I finished it. I probably will reinforce the wood and add more metal braces. You will need a vice to bend the brace to shape. Also it states one slat is different. NO details. One has a sloped front which is the front slat. But you have to figure that out yourself. It was ok and one person assembly, but I would not buy it again. I do actually like it.

If I could give this product a zero, I certainly would. This bench is very poorly made, and the pieces are junk. The slats are thin and weak, and the varnish is rough. There are burrs in the metal on the armrests. The back panel is made of plastic, not metal. The bolts and screws holding it together are small and seem likely to fail. The bench feels thin and wobbly, and I'd be afraid for more than one person to sit on it! It's easy enough to assemble, but it's just sub-par. I expected more for $70! It is obviously intended for outdoor use, but I am certain that sitting in the elements for more than a week would destroy this bench. I am returning both benches that I ordered, and won't purchase them again. EDIT. Just found out that I would have to pay big time shipping costs to return these, It is just not worth it!! Totally disgusted with this whole transaction. Just opened the second box, and found a completely screwed up hardware kit--too many of several pieces, others totally missing. And a random part that doesn't even go with this bench! All loose in the box--not enclosed in a plastic bag, or even taped down. Just floating around inside the box in disarray. There are supposed to be 14 bolts and 14 nuts. Actually received 8 bolts and 4 nuts. But I DID get 24 of the black plastic caps!! This is just a total MESS!!
