I would give 4.5 stars if it were possible. I am a big fan of Papermate gel pens. I used them through high school and into college pretty much exclusively. The gel pens glide nicely and don't smear. The color is strong doesn't fade. That being said, I don't think these are as good as the uncapped version where you press the plunger and the point comes out. This pen seems to have issues with the ink in the lines skipping. This only really happens once every sentence though and it's not too big of an issue. Take a peek at the image attached, you can see the ink through the paper but personally, that isn't an issue for me. ... show more

I write a lot of thank you cards for my job, so I've tried out a lot of different brands and types of pens. These are my current favorites. I love the black ink for everyday writing and the colored ink for more "fun" cards. The gel writes very smoothly, and they are comfortable to write with for long periods of time. Thick lines, don't smear, and write boldly. what's not to love? I usually prefer the click pens, but since those were out of stock, I tried the capped ones. They are a little shorter than the click pens, but that doesn't matter a whole bunch to me.

The writing of these pens are great most surfaces. Dark color BLACK and smooth writing. I bought the Paper Mate InkJoy Gel Pens Medium Point (0.7mm) Capped, 10 Count, Black (2022995) and it was a lot for the price, however when I used one the cap kept falling off the back of the pen and i dont know how many times i had to find it on the ground.
