  • My first camera and I love everything about it
Style: w/ 20-60mm Set: Base
This camera came heavily recommended by so many people and I have to say im very happy with it. While I have no way to compare to other cameras in this price range I haven't found myself wanting more that this camera doesnt offer. It has great video features and takes beautiful photos.. Im not even good and getting good quality pictures. Camera stabilization features are very good and everything from the construction and feel of the camera is quality. Theres are lot to love but I do have a few problems that i havent quite figured out how to address. -I have made a lot of configurations but I just cant get them to get saved. I have to constantly load my settings every time I turn on the camera and its really nuisance. Luckily the menu always stays on load when its prompt. -The camera gives features to lock all functions but only when recording.. would be nice if you could do it while photographing. Not sure how to do it if it isnt the case. I read the whole guide and didnt find anything on how to address this issue. ... show more

  • One last request Panasonic!
Style: w/ 20-60mm Set: Base
Hands down the best camera I’ve ever held! I have used Sony garbage for the past five years and believe me when I say this, this camera really made me feel like I was using garbage! I mean don’t get me wrong, Panasonic was all garbage too up until this Lumix s5ii for a simple reason… reliable autofocus! Where to start, idk, everything just blew me away! Color-science, best IBIS in the game, 6k open-gate, V-log is amazing, Real-Time Lut, ease of use etc… the only drawback is the lack of autofocus in the 1080p high frame rates. Other than that, you are good to go, matter of fact, I found that the autofocus is much more reliable than Sony in 4k up to 60p, Huh! you heard me right! Finally, Panasonic please, “hear us out and release a firmware update supporting PDAF for all other 1080p frame rates, I know you can do it….” Only then, the search for the perfect camera is over… ... show more

  • Great camera for the price
Style: Body Only Set: Base
This camera is fantastic. The pictures have a very nice color straight from camera. The battery lasts way longer than other cameras and the video files look so great.

  • Features that really makes a difference.
Style: w/ 20-60mm Set: Base
I was a Fujifilm user for years so at the beginning I was a little skeptical about changing to Panasonic. However, I can tell you that I couldn’t be happier with my choice. This Lumix has everything I need as a professional photographer to really take my content to a new level, the learning curve was smooth and fast and all the menus and controls are very intuitive. The quality of the camera is undeniable, you can feel while handling and I’m really impressed with the image stabilization even handheld. The built in fan allows me to record videos as long as I want and in general terms this camera is really fantastic! Worth the price totally. ... show more

  • Great video and photo camera!
Style: w/ 20-60mm Set: Base
The media could not be loaded. Right out of the box the first thing you'll notice is how comfortable this camera body feels in hand. If you've ever held another certain brand you'll know how boxy they feel. And this Lumix S5ii is the opposite, it feels great. The botton layout, while even using this body after being a Nikon user my entire life felt like it just made sense. I could get out on a photo shoot right after purchasing the camera and feel good about knowing where everything is. As for the specs, the video and photo quality is exceptional as you'll see. And the auto fucus capabilities in both video and photo are very quick and make life easy! ... show more

  • PDAF and IBIS make for a huge difference
Style: w/ 20-60mm and 50mm Set: Base
Coming from micro Four-Thirds, I'd used Panasonic bodies for a while. The familiarity with the S5 Mk II is immediate. Having used a GH4 and GX8 at skate parks to record video and get photos, I had many experiences with Panasonic over the years. The one thing that was uncomfortable was auto focus. With Panasonic or Olympus lenses, Panasonic bodies would hunt for focus. It's much better with the S5 Mk II, although it still isn't as good as it should be--95%, I'd say. I'm still becoming accustomed to it, but during night shoots, it isn't doing as well as the GH4. This will likely be improved through firmware updates. I had similar issues with the Olympus E-M1. The In-Body Image Stabilization is amazing. It's as good as a micro Four-Thirds Olympus body with the smaller sensor. That's surprising. That makes it better than the competition. Add a Panasonic lens with OIS, and it's even better. I love that the body and the lenses are weather-sealed. I photographed outside during three hurricanes with the Olympus E-1, so I know that weather-sealing is important. It's reassuring that every Panasonic lens is sealed. The only downfall is that there are only a few lenses and most of them are f/1.8. Even though the IBIS is strong, working in darker conditions can be tricky. I'm waiting for more telephoto lenses, as well. I'm sure that Panasonic has developed a capable body for video or stills and this is it. ... show more
