  • This is THE ONE to purchase - Additional Review Comments
Set name: Black- One Battery
First of all, the quality. I wondered about that, because this is a serious purchase that will impact my life going forward. With the Q5 only partially unpacked, I could tell that this was a quality chair. The easy way the parts went together. I didn't need the instructions. The packaging was outstanding. There is little chance of damage in shipment. I was anxious about whether or not this chair would fit me. I am 5 10 1/2 and weigh 227 pounds. There is a lot more of me in the middle than on the ends. I sat in the chair and was pleasantly surprised at how much extra room there is. And then I attached the seat and back cushions which the ad doesn't mention, and I could see that this will be a very comfortable experience. It is sturdy beyond my expectations. Once the battery was charged, I took it on a spin around the house. The joystick is very responsive. It came with the speed setting on *5*, and I quickly lowered it to "1". The lowest speed setting is perfect for going through the house. Then another of my concerns - loading it in the car. I have a Nissan Rogue, and had no difficulty at all loading it in the rear. I used to dread going places because I just can't walk distances anymore. Now I look forward to getting out to restaurants, stores and events. Thank you Paiseec for a great product. I look forward to writing a follow-up review once I've worn some of the rubber off the tires. With so many chairs on the market to choose from, it is hard to decide. But I got it right this time. At 85, I've turned the page on the next chapter. Review (Part Two) OK - the Q5 made quite an impression on me when I received it and unpacked it. Now that I have had it a little more than a week, I feel compelled to follow up and share my early experience. First a word about loading the Q5 into my Nissan Rogue. When folded, it is an easy lift up into the rear . Since it doesn’t stay in the “folded” position, I have learned to be sure to grab ahold of the chair in a manner that keeps it folded. This is easy to do. I am 85 years old with a problem back and hips, The weight of the chair (with battery attached) is no problem. The User’s Manual that comes with the chair lists the weight of the “frame” as 10.3kg. So - what isn’t included in the advertised weight of 22 pounds? I suspect that just about anything attached to the frame is added weight, and certainly the 4 pound battery is extra. In reality, the Q5 probably comes in at 26-28 pounds - ready to roll. No matter. Whatever the Q5 weighs in at, it is something that is easy for me to handle. The process of taking the chair out and setting it up. Remove from the car, and set on the ground in folded position. Pull the sides out until the chair is fully open. Raise the rear handles (including back support) up and snap in place. Place the seat and back cushions in place (held by Velcro). Turn the switch on the battery to the on position. Sit in the chair and set the foot rests in place. Press the power button on the controller. You are ready to roll. With a weeks of practice, I have this procedure down to less than a minute. When returning the chair to the car, simply reverse the process. It can easily be done in a minute - but why rush? I love messing with this chair. Speed settings. There are five. and so far I’ve used only the lowest 3 - with one exception. I’ve been to restaurants, casinos, and a trip to Lowes. I’ve found that once inside, speed levels 1 and 2 work best for me. Plenty of power and easy to control. Avoiding other patrons is more important than zipping quickly from the flooring department to plumbing. Outside in an open parking lot, speed setting 3 easily gets me from the entry to the car at greater than normal walking speed. One time I increased to setting 4 while out in a parking lot, and pushing full forward on the joy stick was “uncomfortably fast” for me. This isn’t technical information on the speed of the Q5. It is just my experience in my way of describing it. Battery endurance. I don’t know. After 4 uses, the green lights dropped one position, so it wasn’t far from still being full. They say it will last for 14 hours, but I suspect that would be for someone weighing 150 pounds or so. With me being at 225, I’m pretty sure it would be less. But I was out 4 times, and it dropped only slightly. I’m quite happy with the battery. I also ordered a spare, but that may not have been necessary. I cannot imagine going anywhere for 14 hours. I love my Q5. It has changed my life. It deserves more than 5 stars. ... show more

  • Love My Chair
Set name: Black- One Battery
I read many reviews on electric chairs and decided to buy this chair because it was light weight. Packaging was great, it arrived in perfect condition and was east to assemble. After reading the manual I had a couple of questions and emailed Paiseec. They responded within two days, and I am very happy with them. That's good customer service! The chair is comfortable and easy to drive. I love it! ... show more

  • Customizing has helped me out a lot.
Set name: Black- One Battery
I am using this wheelchair temporarily in my home until my insurance wheelchair arrives. Then, I plan to use this folding wheelchair for trips out of the house, to the doctor and grocery store. I plan to fold it and store it in the car. It is nice to know that it has folding capacity and 24 lbs. total for possible flying. Once I customized it, I was quite happy. It took quite a while but I finally figured out how to mute the annoying backup beeping and also the unnecessary announcements. One trick I learned was to unscrew the controller and remove the nut for the time being. Upon reaching my built in office desk, I can slip the controller out and tap it to move the arms under the desktop. I can set the controller on a shelf near my side (or in my lap at the kitchen sink). Before the joystick would bend when I slid under the desk and I had to shut the whole thing off or the chair would "squirm". If the headlight is removed, I can plug the battery cable directly into the controller. This is so easy to do at the end of the night for charging. I never have to reach down and fuss with the battery at all. One feature that annoys me is the automatic shut off of the controller. After about 10 minutes or so it automatically shuts off. I would rather waste the minor battery juice to leave it on. I used to stop by releasing the accelerator. It was a little sloppy. I learned that when I'm going to a stop from moving quickly all I have to do is a quick pullback to reverse and it stops in its tracks quickly. I could zoom right up to the couch and It is instantly stopped without bumping. I also have a giant, very expensive and powerful monster wheelchair, but I prefer this lightweight model. I am able to fold it myself and get it into the back seat of the car for when I go to the grocery store. It is so much easier than trying to find a handicapped cart that still has a full battery charge and crawls along at about one mile an hour. This lightweight model zips along at over 5 miles an hour. I have become so confident about this wheelchair that I actually booked a flight from Florida to New York City. JSX Airlines loads from the tarmac and promised me they would have a long right up to the door and I would be the first one to board. They will take my wheelchair from me at the door and then stow it until we land. Unfortunately, The range is not even close to what is advertised on Amazon. ... show more

  • A light, comfortable wheelchair.
This is a fine little chair. It weighs 24 pounds, without the battery and footrests. I wish I could keep it, but unfortunately I have to return it, for personal reasons.

  • Take my money!
Set name: Black- One Battery
Life changing product. Half the weight of our previous chair. Spin radius is incredible, no 3 point turns! Great battery life, comfortable. I have now purchased 2 of these for relatives and it helped restored some freedom when most needed. All PT professionals that have seen it, have taken photos and have been fawning all over it. Cannot recommend this enough! ... show more

  • Nice chair, however....
Set name: Black- One Battery
The chair is very well made; easy and smooth to operate. Only negative so far is the extremely rude customer support person I encountered when I called to ask a question.
