  • DOA
DOA ON ARRIVAL. ordered IN spent 2019 AND JUST GOT TIME TO INSTALL THE SURVEILLANCE SYSTEM TODAY, August 1, 2020. THE SCREEN WILL NOT POWER UP. Turns out the main cable coming from the monitor has a short in it somewhere. Seems to be in the box on the cable. Can wiggle it and hang it in certain positions and it’ll come on for a minute then go out. Keep in mind this has been in the box, unopened, sitting in the same spot until it was hooked up. That’s my fault for not getting it out and testing it. Highly doubt they’d send me another one that worked. Wasted money on this one. There’s a lot of retailers offering this particular model. Don’t buy it. Bought a different one that was cheap priced like this one and it also has wiring issues. Remember that bitter taste from the quality lacking lasts long after the sweetness of that low price. ... show more

  • Works well enough. It is Standard Definition, so nothing incredible, but works!
I got this to put in my car so passengers could play video games while I listened to music on my stereo. It does the job. it's obviously a semi-low quality monitor and doesn't look AMAZING, but can't be expected with composite signal, but it does do the job which is the important part. P.S. I am using an HDMI to composite converter to accomplish this. I'd buy it again if I needed a cheap monitor for something. The mounting hardware seems pretty decent. Overall a good enough piece of hardware for my purposes. ... show more

  • You have to stare at a bright blue screen unless the reverse camera is on.
Video 1 is always on. Video 2 comes on when you shift the transmission into reverse. If you connect nothing to video 1, the monitor stays on this annoying bright blue screen. It's especially distracting at night. If you manually switch the monitor to video 2, the reverse camera is always on, whether you're in reverse or not. I was hoping the blue screen would disappear after a while, but nope it stays on unless you turn off the monitor entirely. I wonder if there's anything I can do to trick deal one into thinking something is connected and just show a black screen. I had to connect the monitor's power wire to the reverse light circuit as a workaround. The problem with this is the monitor takes an extra couple of seconds to power up when you put the transmission in reverse instead of instantly showing the camera image. ... show more

  • Good monitor but inadequate install instructions.
Good monitor but inadequate installation documentation. Does not describe what to do with the BLUE wire. The Red connects to the reverse light 12v connection, the Black connects to ground. If you want the monitor to turn on when you turn on the ignition, connect the Blue wire along with the Red wire to the power supply port. This way you don’t have to turn the monitor on/off manually. It will follow the ignition switch on/off status. If you are unable to adjust the camera up/down, loosen the little screws behind it to do so. ... show more

  • Great value for a quality monitor
The item is just as described, I've bought 2 of these and put 1 in a RV and another in a truck. Im running back up cameras on both of them plus running a satellite TV signal into the RV one. Great picture easy to install and comes with everything you will need.

  • Dont know if its the screen or camera
Firstly, very simple to install. I connected it to the natika (I believe was the wording) camera and the quality is okay. The camera is a 720p so the 7 inch screen is struggling to get the pixels it needs. Its a little grainy but as long as I can see straight down my tailgate and bumper to know exactly how close I am to something, its fine. I also chucked the mount in the bin and used a ram mount for an iPad, looks and feels much better. I paid like 80 bucks total for everything so its decent for the price. ... show more

  • Big and Clear
This was for my dad's truck, an 11 F150 with the famous camera that goes bad. This sits on the tiny shelf above his radio and factory NAV screen. Used it with the tailgate handle camera (also purchased here on Amazon). This gives him a very clear view when backing up to one of his trailers when he's by himself. I also wired it to remain on, so he could peek at the trailer (especially his boats) while driving if he wanted some extra assurance that all was well. I prefer this to wireless as it is just a simple set up and stays clear ... show more
