It works and is not real loud but the instructions are not clear about where to measure for the header. Even the online video just skips over it. They even skip the part about leaving the chain in the box while extending it out to the pulley. FYI - found the misplaced remote!

We just bought our first house and it’s a fixer upper. The garage door is an old wood one that along the way someone added wood panels ontop to make it extra heavy. The original garage door opener is old and rusty. We have been hoping to replace both since we moved in and decided to use this Pacer opener. I love that it comes with the chain drive since ours also needs replacing. The unit is very nice and modern looking, especially compared to our 80/90s looking one. It’s currently the depths of frozen winter in Wisconsin so we haven’t been able to install it yet but it will be our first project as soon as things thaw. We’ve never installed one before but we’ve laid out the parts and read over the manual. There are a lot of steps but it’s written out well. Even to newbies like us, it looks totally doable. As soon as we are able to head out to our subzero garage in the thaw and install it, we’ll update the listing.

The installation of this opener is very straightforward. It takes quite a bit of time, though. The instructions are clear. the build of everything is good. I was surprised at how easy it was. The opener works very well. It is quiet. So glad i found this thing. 5 stars defnitely.

This review is for a Pacer BU50 Overhead Garage Door Opener with Heavy-Duty Chain Drive. I’ve got a double garage and was thrilled to see this opener. The motor is heavy duty, and hubby said that installation was uneventful. The installation guide was easy to read and if you’re visual like me the video tutorial is the way to go. You get a wall mounted control and a remote control for easy operation. I didn’t know if us doing our own installation was the way to go but this opener made it easy.
