We really like how "Christmas Tree" looks on outside at night. I guess, it could also be put over a regular Christmas tree inside. The remote control allows you to select several lighting modes, and also how many hours they should stay on. And then, surprise.... it keeps repeating your settings until they're changed. Received the light set in a brown package and the set up takes less than a minute for a not handy lady even without any instructions. This product is horribly and cheaply made. Some of the hard, flimsy plastic stars are cracked and one of them was totally missing, leaving just wires hanging there. Strange enough there were only small broken pieces, certainly not enough to make a whole star. This is a clear case if I would have seen this in a store I would have never bought it. BTW also one of the strings of hanging stars is a little longer then the other, so no hanging them where they can be compared to each other. ... show more

Success! The kids love this as a nightlight. (Only on steady however, not on flash) It looks good both inside and from the outside. There weren't any instructions so at first I struggled with getting the timer right on the remote. Range is not very good on that remote but it hardly ever is with these cheap, non commercial grade lights. Anywho, we didn't want a remote with those "button" batteries in the kids room so I just decided to bypass that buy plugging it in to a regular outlet timer. The lights remember their last setting and just turn on and off as the timer is programmed. ... show more
