The stainless steel will not bend no matter how hard the ice cream or strong the user and it is full tang, extending through the full length of the rubberized handle. It's a tank of an ice cream scoop! Unfortunately, that's also a bit of a downfall: The tip of the scoop is too thick to easily cut through ice cream that's particularly hard, acting more like a chisel that's difficult to force through and making me long for a hammer to hit it with. In addition, there's too little curvature to form more traditional scoops/balls of ice cream; every scoop is an uneven, squared chunk that's fine for a bowl but lousy for a cone. A better alternative is the Wilton ice cream scoop (Amazon item #B00RGFVBQY) that's just as strong but thinner, curved, and a few bucks cheaper. ... show more

A bit heavy for my thin wrists but it does it’s work of digging into frozen icecream so remarkably well! No need to bend spoons and use uncomfortably curved scoopers. The edges are slightly sharpened. Overall good.
