Description

The OXO Good Grips Simple Mandoline Slicer is a staple for any kitchen. The tab slides to easily adjust between three slice thickness settings, julienne setting and storage setting. The angled stainless steel blade slices even soft foods with ease and the textured runway ensures that no food gets stuck while you're slicing. The soft handle provides a soft, comfortable grip and the non- slip feet keep the Simple Mandoline Slicer steady while in use. The spring- loaded food holder pushes food for even slicing with little to no waste and has a generous rim to protect your fingers. I'd like to communicate how dangerous this appliance is if you aren't paying close attention and using the following safety precautions. First, invest in ahttps://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B06XC11FL8?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_mob_b_asin_image. Amazon sells this and since it comes with 2 gloves you can give on to a friend. Also, always use the food holder. I did not like the food holder that came with this mandolin. The teeth grips were not sharp or long enough to properly grip the food being sliced. I used one from my old, cheap, discarded mandolin that works much better. I also always store it in the lock position and cover the blade with the blue protective strip that came with it. I know two very experienced cooks who were badly wounded by mandolin blades. On another note, the julienne setting does not work well. It requires a very hard hand to push it through and then the vegetables still remained clumped. I suggest that you use a food processor But the slicer feature works great. And I gave 4 stars because slicing is what I use the mandolin for: potatoes and cabbage mostly. ... show more

XOX makes great, well-priced kitchen products. This is very easy to use, dial in the width of the slice. This collapses to almost flat, easy to store. I’m very pleased with the purchase

    • This slicer is ok...but the hand holder/protector is horrible.
The slicer works fine, although there is enough "give" in the plastic that if you push more than a little, the slices will not be even. (Not very sturdy.) The holder that you use to run the items over the slicer is CRAP! It is horribly spring loaded and you can't keep the food in the handle before you try to run it across the blade. Buy a protective glove to prevent severe injury...and throw the hand thing in the garbage! ... show more

Easy to clean, still sharp and sturdy. Only thing, tomatoes need to be firm other wise they will become mushy, but i think it’s true for any brand. ... show more

This one really works. Simple, sturdy, sharp. I tried a more expensive model that had removable parts and complicated adjustments but could never get it to work. Finally threw it in the trash and started searching for a better option. This is it!! I use it primarily for slicing potatoes. They come out even with no waste. I also used it to thinly slice carrots and it worked great. Also sliced zucchini and cucumbers. I should have known OXO would be the answer. Update: Just used it to slice leeks and potatoes for Potato Leek soup. Cut prep time by 75% or more. ... show more
