I’ve only used one so far, but it came out nice. It adhered nicely to the bed. Does have a wood burning smell, so use a well ventilated area. The object is printed looked “realistic”, a lot better then if I would of used just a brown filament.

Beautiful texture and colors that printed well on a Bambu X1c and a .4mm nozzle with the default bambu wood pla filament profile. I did have one event when using top surface ironing where the filament almost caramelized in a streak but I was running some interesting settings in the slicer. Photos of my clock are of this filament at .12 layer height, no ironing but a lot of slicer tweaks. Exceptions being the center hub is a matte pla and the clock hand stems are matte black pla. No tangles or issues, although an adapter spool to use in the AMS is a required print. ... show more

was skeptical at first, but pleasently suprised at the quality, the only draw back I saw was residue buildup in my hotend and nozzle, Have replacement nozzles handy if your printing a large print, and make sure to do proper retractions and cleaning in betweeen prints. as long as you keep that in mind you will have no issues ... show more

I had total success using .6mm nozzle and only printing decorative non-structural sections of this project. This custom picture frame is mostly basic brown PLA with the OVV3D Wood (Redwood and Oak) fused nicely on the upper layers. It feels and smells like wood! Very nice! I like this filament, but it is rough, inconsistent, and makes fragile prints. It may clog .4mm nozzle too easily, so stick with .6mm which allows a lower nozzle temp of 190C. Dry it well before use, even fresh from the package. So, print only decorative surfaces and you will be fine. Print structural stuff with basic PLA first and layer on the OVV3D Wood filament or print separate pieces for gluing on later. That will save costs too - print only what needs to visibly wooden and you'll be fine. Not for beginners. ... show more

I use this wood PLA to make small parts for a model ship I'm building. Designing the parts in CAD and 3D printing them is much faster and easier than carving the pieces from wood and then staining them. This material tends to string a lot but the strings can easily be trimmed from the pieces I'm making. I use a 0.4mm nozzle and have not had any blockages. The colors closely match the wood I'm using and cover a good range of wood colors. The fineness of the printed pieces is good, as you can see from the photos. ... show more

First attempt at a print the filament got stuck in the hotend. Second attempt with a different filament did not adhere to itself within the structure. Both prints failed. Will not try again.

Needed this for the color. Printed a red poodle and this was a great color match. I do think this is a little brittle compared to regular PLA, but printed really well. Would recommend.

Rating: Mixed (2 spools 5★, 2 spools 1★) Out of four spools, two were perfectly fine and deserve 5 stars. They printed great with no issues. Unfortunately, the other two spools were not easily usable. The filament was wound in a way where it appeared to go under itself on the spool, causing it to stick to itself extremely badly. When trying to unwind, the filament would not come free and would snap before releasing. Drying the filament did not improve this. It remained bonded to itself very strongly and continued breaking when unwound. Eventually, if I unwound by hand and rewound, it printed ok. The walnut filament was the worst of the four, which was disappointing since it was the main reason I purchased this product. That said, when the filament is properly wound, it prints very nicely. This may have been a bad batch or bad luck. I may try this product again in the future because the successful spools performed well. ... show more
