Should I Buy It?

Despite mixed reviews, if you're looking for a sturdy and compact treadmill that provides reliable performance for extensive running workouts and you're not concerned about an incline feature, this product might be a good fit. However, keep in mind the potential issues around wobbling, belt slipping, and the plug's durability before making a decision. Be mindful of your requirements and weigh the pros and cons to decide if this treadmill meets your needs.

  • Excellent Motor, Sturdy Compact Design, and Very Easy to Use
Updated Feb 2, 2021 Would raise my rating to 5.5 stars if it were possible. Treadmill motor handled my 12 mile run @6.7MPH with ease and no skipping. And, I uncovered a very useful undocumented feature. In the workout I learned the treadmill can run INDEFINITELY! When the time display reaches 99:59 (MM:SS), rather than turn off like most treadmills do, the OVICX Q2S simply rolls the clock over and keeps going. I ran on the treadmill nonstop for 108 minutes with no issues at all. There was no need to restart the treadmill to get in a workout lasting more than 100 minutes! The display adjusts the decimal place and rolls over when needed to keep ‘counting’. My 12 mile run was: Time – 00:00 to 99:59 then roll over to 00:00 and finish at 08:00 Calories – 0.00 to 9.99, then 10.0 to 99.9, then 100 to 999, then rollover back to 0.00 and finish at 110 Distance (miles) – 0.00 to 9.99, then 10.0 to 12.0 Ordered Jan 3, 2021 and received four days later (not Prime). Unboxed three days later. My requirements: treadmill motor capable of 8MPH+, no bulky console, no fancy programming. I just want to get my miles as a long time runner, marathoner, and pace leader. The OVICX Q2S exceeded my expectations. Display is MPH. Pleasantly surprised! I was expecting KPH due to the foreign manufacturer origin. Speed display is 100% accurate. I tested 2MPH, 3MPH, 5MPH, 7MPH, and 8.7MPH. Without any load, the tread speed matched the display. I tested by measuring the tread distance traveled (113.5 inches) per rotation and timed the revolutions. The motor is excellent based on my workouts. This was my most important requirement. I ran all kinds workouts and the motor was perfect each time. No jerkiness or skipping to throw off my cadence. Example of runs I did to test the motor (I also rechecked the treadmill speed accuracy after a workout): Run/walk 7 miles - 6.0MPH, short walk, 6.1MPH, short walk, etc. (using the shift feature) Run 8 miles, negative split, 6.3MPH to 7.0MPH (overall avg 6.8MPH) Run 5 miles, negative split, 2.5MPH warmup, 6.5MPH to 7.3MPH (overall avg 7.0MPH) Walk 4 miles at 4MPH More than 40 miles in about 18 days of use and no issues whatsoever. The motor was more quiet than I expected. I had no issues hearing the music from my iPad. For me, no need to use earbuds. The intelligent speed reduction is perfect for run/walk training or interval training. Touch the shift button and the treadmill gradually slows down to 2.5MPH. Touch the shift button again and the treadmill automatically goes back to whatever speed you had before the first shift. While in speed reduction mode, you can manually adjust your speed up or down from 2.5MPH. There is no incline feature. I didn’t want to add weight and bulk to the treadmill. I have enough hills in my neighborhood. The safety sidebars can be raised or lowered independently of each other. This gives flexibility for room placement. You could have one bar up and the other one down. I simply have both bars down since I don’t rely on them (see photo). My wife likes the right sidebar up when she uses the treadmill. Adding to the quality, the sidebars are solid metal, not plastic. Tread length and width is just right. My stride does not weave side to side, so the 17 inch width is more than adequate. The tread length is also more than sufficient for my stride length. The device holder could be a tad better. The blue plastic ledge comes with a tacky pad (think TENS massage pad tacky) to adhere your device. The pad is so tacky that pulling the device off is a challenge. My workaround: I exposed only a small portion of the pad, just enough keep my iPad attached. Then, I use two rubber bands as tie downs (see photo). No speakers, but Bluetooth enables the FitShow app to control the treadmill and save workout history. It was easy to register and connect the app. I did not try much of the app features because I didn’t purchase the treadmill for the app. I like the slim and compact design. If I wanted, I could fold up the treadmill and slide it into my Prius to take it somewhere. This treadmill is not boxy or bulky. The heart rate monitor feature isn't the easiest to use. You must touch three of the four touchpads (two fingers from one hand, one finger from the other hand) to get a reading. The console is simple, with just a few buttons. No complicated display to figure out. The console is very steady at any speed, no wobbling or shaking. This treadmill is very sturdy. What convinced me to take a chance and order this treadmill? A YouTube video showing one of the employees running on the treadmill at the max speed 14KPH (8.7MPH) the entire video and the treadmill never shook or wobbled. ... show more

  • So glad I bought it!! This is the one !
I was so nervous to pull the trigger on this....I had researched and researched! Looked at all the treadmills ranging from the $200 ones to the $1,000 ones and kept coming back to this one...it has great reviews but I was so scared! I have to say, this was the best decision!! First of all it was packaged extremely well ! Very impressed by the packaging., they really took care to protect it. 2nd, so super easy to unbox and get it going .. took me no time at all and I am a female and had no help. I unboxed and set the whole thing up quickly myself. The amazon drivers were wonderful and delivered it to my third floor apartment with no elevator. All you do is open the box, get it out of box and it's ready to go!! I just stood it up , wheeled it where I wanted it , layed it down , plugged it in ,, it started right up beautifully!! I hopped right on and started walking . This is a quality treadmill, solid, made very well,, and amazing at this price point. I am so so glad I got this! It works so well. Very easy to fold up and stand wherever you want ! Yes people have called it on the heavy side, but it pivots on the wheels, there's nothing to it! Its not heavy to me.. Super easy. It's quiet, runs smooth and I love it! I just got it yesterday, so I will update review in a month to say how it's going. But look no further scared ones like me... pull the trigger, this is the one !! ... show more

  • So many issues!!!!!!!!!!
Hi! I do NOT recommend this treadmill. I purchased this mid July 2020. First, it took more than a month to get to me as the first one they shipped was somehow lost. I don't blame the company for this issue, but I do for how AWFUL it was to fix the problem. I was told to wait for WEEKS before they finally admitted it was lost. I spent countless hours trying to convince someone that I didn't have it and UPS said they didn't have it. By that point, they had sold all of their stock and I had to wait for them to make more then ship one to me. So, I finally got in early September. Because I was one of the first purchasers, this might now be fixed. There are many issues with this treadmill. The app never worked for me, but I did give up trying so that could be fixed now. The belt will slip sometimes, Not always, but if you aren't a very balanced person, you might hurt yourself- so be aware of that. Second, to fold it up, you have to unscrew and screw the knobs. This should be theoretically easy, but if you tighten them too much, you'll need wrenches to unscrew them. Believe me on that. I am typically a pretty strong person, but sheesh. BUT, if they are too loose, the treadmill will feel them wobble and it won't work. It took me about a month of using it to get the feel for that. Another issue is that if you touch anywhere other than the exact placements of the buttons or the belt, it will do the heartrate and it probably won't go back to showing distance or calories for the rest of the time it's on, even if you press the program button. In fact, most of the time if I just have a fan blowing at me, it reads that as the heartrate thing, so I hardly ever can see anything other than the time, distance, and "heartrate" of whatever it things is touching it (never me, I literally have never measured my heartrate with it because I have an apple watch). Speaking of the screen, if you are at all a sweaty person, I recommend having a towel or something handy. Because these are touch screens, if your sweat gets on the screen or your hand is at all sweaty, it won't read your touch to lower or raise the speed or stop the machine (But it will helpfully read the sweat's heartrate!). About 10 seconds before I am ready to slow at the end of my run, I quickly wipe down the screen so that I will be able to stop. This isn't entirely this company's fault, many companies are doing it and it's just a dumb design that could end up hurting people if you need to stop and can't. There is a certain procedure I've developed for doing this because I have ended up "stopping" the machine by wiping off the sweat. And, even if you don't, sometimes it decides it's going to go to random speeds without you telling it. Just a stupid design. These were workable issues that I dealt with. No big deal! It's a super-collapsible treadmill at an affordable cost, I can live with these and did for over a year happily and never posting a negative review! But, now, I am having to buy a new treadmill. The pins where you plug this in are loose. To store upright, you have to unplug the treadmill to fold it up and that area where you plug it in is made really cheaply. So, each time you unplug it, it wiggles it a bit and apparently damages it. Now, I have to spend about 10 minutes plugging in and carefully maneuvering the plug around to get it to turn on because it won't turn on if it is fully plugged in, it's got to be at a very specific spot. Even then, I usually start with a walk, and it will just shut off before I get a chance to run because just the walking is enough to jiggle the plug enough to lose power. But, it doesn't lose all the power. The power button on the base is still lit up, but the belt won't move and the screen won't light up. So, it's getting some power but it's not enough to fully power it or maybe there's a safety mechanism with the plug that it's reading and shutting off because it thinks it may lose power? I don't know. But, then, I have to re-wiggle the plug around to get it to turn back on. This was almost livable, except that it's getting worse. It started with turning off just once and that was a weird fluke. Now, two weeks later, it will shut off mid-run. Meaning I am running at 8.7 mph (I have worked my way up through the year) and all the sudden it just stops. It's INCREDIBLY dangerous. It shut off about 5 times the last time I tried to use it, I had to give up because it kept shutting off before it even got to speed. I had someone look at it because I am trying to avoid replacing it, but they can't figure it out. I can't even use it anymore. I now wish I had just spent the money to get a better model because I am going to be spending it anyway and I just put it off for a year but probably spent who-knows how many hours trying to make this work. DO NOT BUY. this is a DANGEROUS machine that will cause you problems. EDIT TO MENTION: One last thing, this definitely messes with some of the audio connections in your house when it is being used. My airpods would be connected to my mac, but just stop playing sound. Weirdly, didn't have this issue when they connected to my ipad? And, my partner couldn't use his headset (not even bluetooth, just plugged into his desktop) when I was running. We both only experienced these things when I had the treadmill on. Apparently, this isn't uncommon with treadmills but wanted to add it as you may experience them with this model FOR SURE. ... show more
