Very handy portable stove. It heats up pretty fast. The smaller plate is good for a medium size pot. The other plate is a decent size. The bigger plate came damaged as you can see. It didn’t affect the heating but it shows me it isn’t as durable as I’d thought. Used it a few times and it’s pretty good. If you’re doing lots of cooking I’d recommend sticking to a different brand, maybe something slightly more durable. But this is good to have for offices or places where it comes in handy but isn’t used too much. ... show more

I bought this as a backup to my stove. Its part of a California power outage plan. We have had power failures up to 3 weeks here. No this is not Africa or the Philippines, its the middle of San Jose. I bought a 120v generator, and the only things in the house it cannot power are the stove/oven and the dryer at 240v. So this, together with a large toaster oven, is the backup to the stove/oven. The unit boiled water acceptably quickly on both burners. I suspect one reason for the complaints on the unit is that when first turned on, it burns in the new unit and makes strange smells for a bit. This is normal. I left both burners on for a while and it was not a problem. So this is a nice cheap and compact unit to sit in the cabinet for backup use. ... show more

I like the size because it is not cumbersome or heavy! The burners take a minute or so to heat up, so allow for that. But once it is heated, it works great! Also, I am a accustomed to cooking on gas burners so bear that in mind. The cord is long enough although I wish it was a tad longer but I imagine this has to do with safety regulations. Please don’t get me wrong, this is a great item. This needs time to fully heat up before you use. I’m a chef and I gave it, 20 minutes to heat up before it boiled a pot of noodles for spaghetti. When it’s fully heated up, it’s great for cooking. It’s a very easy to clean. It’s a very nice looking item in my kitchen. It just needs the time to warm up fully before use, it’s cast iron and then it’s great. ... show more

I love everything about it! No dislikes I needed it because my stove just stop working during the Christmas holidays so I ordered this and cooked a entire Christmas meal. It gets really hot fast and it boils! The price is great too.
