The media could not be loaded. I bought 2 to go one on each side of the TV/bookshelf. Due to the placement I really was hoping that this lamp would be easy to convert to a table lamp. Or rather TV side lamp. This way no reflection shines off of the TV screen. We have a small living room so one of these light it up. I had bought two similar lights and one of those died, the second one is still going. So I have the 2nd lamp for when it does go out. The base is heavier and wider than my first pair of lamps making these safer when full height. The remote is fast acting. Love the presets. To make this lamp short when you open it up you will see that the cord is not pre-installed in the upright tubing. So it is just a matter of making the upright as tall or short as you need. The power cord then slides down the upright tubing out of the underside of the bottom of the base. There is a slot for the cord underneath and is easy to work with. No splicing will be needed. 100% my personal favorite lamp to date. I highly recommend this lamp for its versatility and easy set up. Oh, it is twice as bright as one one of other lamps I first got. My living room doesn't have a ceiling light so I needed one that would cast light over a larger area. This was the answer. I really like that it easily connects to my Alexa device for voice control. When I come home carrying bags, I don't have to look for a light switch - I just tell Alexa to turn on the light! Therr is also a convenient remote control for use when you don't want to use Alexa. It also works with an app! This light is simply the best and it was simple to assemble. I bought one for my bedroom as well. I love this light. I found this listing as I was looking for the brightest possible floor lamp due to my place being rather dark. It is definitely bright and while I'm not fond of remotes, I do like having that over having to install a frustrating app to control everything that I can't use half the time because it has a fit with my wifi. It is rather plain but at this point, I need function over form. One caveat though is the only way to make the area really bright is to have the light tilted so it's perpendicular to the floor/like a bright sun facing you. Problem with that is due to it being so bright, this only works if you're never having to look at this side, otherwise it does feel blinding. ... show more

***This is a 3 month update. I was really loving this lamp and previously rated it at 5 stars; however, I have to change that now. In the last month the lamp has began turning itself on by itself. At first I thought I was forgetting to turn it off, but now I have seen it turn itself on multiple times. At one point, I had a span of 15 minutes where it turned itself on 3 times. I will also add, I live alone and I haven't had any friends or family download the app to use thr lamp, I just give them thr remote when they are here. *** ORIGINAL REVIEW: I enjoy that I get to choose the light whether I want that warm yellow glow or a clean white light. I love that it came with a remote and also has where I can control it on my phone so that when I travel I can turn it on still in the evenings to give the impression someone is home. Really didn’t want this lamp at first because I wasn’t sure it fit the interior design of our home, but it seemed to be the best in terms of functionality - now I love them! They brighten up our small and large rooms and actually look pretty nice. Happy with the different settings to adjust the brightness/warmth of the light. However, after about 8 months, the remote stopped working and I hadn’t set up the phone control/app. Emailed the customer service for Outon (seller) - they were quick to respond, attempted to troubleshoot but ultimately sent me a new remote at no cost, which I’m grateful for! Very quick, but also very persistent for responses back/writing a review which was tough to do with life things going on. Overall good customer service and do really love the lamp. We also have 3 of the ones with controls on the lamp + remote which I think might be better if you happen to lose the remote/not have the phone app set up like I did. Will need to set up the app now! 😅 ... show more

The media could not be loaded. I was on the hunt for a good floor lamp to jazz up my living room, that had the ability to turn on and off with Alexa. It looked so stylish in the pictures, and I just had to give it a shot to elevate my home decor game! Pros: 1. The setup was a breeze, even though I love DIY, it practically assembled itself. 2. The design is sleek and modern, and it instantly added a touch of class to my living room. 3. The adjustable brightness levels are like having a mood-setting wizard in your room. Whether I'm binge-watching Netflix or reading a book, I can set the perfect ambiance. Plus, it comes with a remote control, so I can dim the lights from my spot on the couch without lifting a finger. Lazy? Maybe. Awesome? Definitely! I will admit though that I never use the remote as I use it with Alexa. 4. For the price this lamp is EXCELENT. Cons: 1. Although bright, I had to buy two for my living room to get the amount of light I wanted. 2. This model will change the type of light i.e warm, cool, etc, but it doesn't allow you to change it to any color of the rainbow like some other models. Final Thoughts: Ok so my own little rating system is the following: Buy, Wait for a sale, or Skip. This one is a Buy! The Outon floor lamp is the real deal.
