I bought this to take on a river cruise in Europe late fall this year. I plan to take this with my Columbia shell and layer them as needed. I didn't have much hope for it at this great price and a non-familiar brand, but I was pleasantly surprised. The quality seems very good, sizing was just right, no funky odors, and though I can't speak to warmth or protection from the wind because it's 85 degrees right now, given the nice quality, I think it will be perfect. It has a flattering shape and I don't know how much I'll be able to fit under it, but if I'm only doing lightweight wool or polypro, I have no concerns over getting cold as we wander through France, Germany, and Switzerland. Perfect spring and fall jacket that is super compact and lightweight, yet perfectly warm. I absolutely love it. I bought the blush color as I have dark salt and pepper hair. I love it so much. I’ll probably get one in black for this winter. I’m post menopausal so any kind of heavy coat generally causes me to overheat, lol.     • A winner! Great jacket for layering

Loving this jacket so far! Exactly what I was looking for: lightweight, packable (comes with a little separate matching pouch), hooded, deep zippered side pockets secure for cell phones and car keys not to fall out on a trail, interior zippered pocket large enough for a wallet, and comes in tons of appealing color options. (I had a hard time deciding but ultimately went with the teal, which is a nice rich color more green than blue.) Giving it 4 stars for now since I’ve only been using it a couple of weeks, no conditions wet enough to check water resistance, and who knows how it will hold up long term. The finishes are good and what you want in true outdoor wear, minus the fancy brand logo and corresponding price. Where I live it’s all about layering and this jacket works for that: I tried my regular size (2xl) and the next size up (3X). My regular size is great for two thin layers like a long sleeved top and thin zip up fleece underneath. If I needed this to be my warmest option, I would have sized up to be able to wear 2-3 layers underneath that would include a thick fleece or chunky wool sweater or something. But I’m keeping my old thicker and fleece-lined heavy puffer coat (featuring a duct-taped repair lol) as my serious cold coat. Otherwise this cute hooded Outdoor Ventures coat is my new go-to. This jacket fit perfectly. The teal color was actually more subtle than I expected which was a nice surprise. It's a bit larger than I expected when packed into the pocket or pouch but still OK. It's very lightweight and I like that it has a hood. All said I would recommend this as a good value.

I wore this jacket to see Machu Picchu and it was a day that it rained alot. It is not water proof but it did keep me warm. On days when it wasn't raining it folded into itself and fit into the backpack. It's a true size fit. The zipper was durable and the hood has a drawstring to tighten the hood around your face. ... show more

    • Cute, but did not hold up in Japan Showers
Size: Small Color: Cream(fold in Pocket)
This jacket seemed really promising at first. It is fairly warm and can handle light rain, but it will not hold up to heavy showers, hiking, or long distance walking. I took this jacket with me on my 28 day trip to Japan. It rained pretty much every day and this was the only protection I brought for the elements. This was a mistake. Pockets) I enjoyed the amount and sheer size of the pockets of this jacket. I especially used the little hidden breast pocket as a makeshift coin purse. This, however, did cause the pocket to get that silver grey metal sheen which I do not know how to get out. We were walking down the street and I had my hands and my phone in the pockets because it was raining and it was cold, but suddenly my hands were wet. The pockets were filled with water. My phone was sitting in pocket water for I don't know how long and it started to act funny after my trip. You can actually stuff the jacket into one of the pockets, ONLY 1 pocket that has text when you turn it inside out (you cannot stuff it into the other pocket) AND it comes with a bag so I don't know if the people complaining about the separate bag figured out you can still stuff it into the pocket, but what can you do. Hood) the hood fits around your head so you properly look like a thumb thumb from Spy Kids, but the adjustable elastic shrinks the hood OVER your eyes. There's really no getting around it, if you want to tighten your hood, you can only go so far before you can't see. The top of the hood extends out ever so slightly so you have a little hat effect from the rain, but when you tighten the hood, I found that water ran down the edges of the hood making my face wet anyway. The collar of the jacket also has a bit of a gap that I think gets a little more pronounced when you tighten the hood so my neck also got wet. If you don't tighten the hood, I found that rain accumulated on the inside of the sides of the hood which still caused my face to get wet🫠 Overall, I will not be using this jacket again for Japan and I do not recommend for anything other than perhaps light day to day use in light respectable rain. ... show more
