I waited a couple of weeks to wear this and give it my honest review this is one of the nicest jackets I have ever owned. The Color Purple is gorgeous. The lining is warm it's waterproof the sizing is true. It's down but it's not bulky it comes down to my thighs so it's not too long but gives just enough warmth to be out in the freezing cold weather in New Hampshire. The pockets are deep it seems like a very high quality coat for the price and very happy with my purchase.

I had some very specific needs when searching for a winter coat and this one filled all of those needs. * long length to help keep me warm * nice long sleeves * 100% lined and insulated * detachable hood (sometimes I prefer to wear a hat) * Large pockets on the outside and nice big interior pocket for my wallet, phone or whatever I'm carrying * lots of beautiful colors to choose from (I got purple) * roomy enough to layer clothing underneath (I usually wear an XL, but went up to a XXL so I had room for layers. * you can store it in a vacuum bag when not in use or for travel where you don't need the coat until you arrive The material quality is very nice, good details such as an adjustable belt styling, stretch cuffs to keep your arms warm and soft fuzzy lining inside the coat and hood and fur trim around the hood.

The media could not be loaded. I got the purple (eggplant) in a 3X because I wear xl-2xl normally, but I have broad shoulders and really big arms from having lymphoedema and lipoedema. To start, it was very fitted on my arms. I'm not sure I can wear a hoodie with it, but it's so warm I was sweating by the time i took it off after a few minutes so I think it's A warm enough coat for California to not need an extra sweater. It's down past my hips, zips fine. Zipper seems strongn and thick, and it's the kind where it has 2 so you can zip the bottom open for more mobility. The inside is lined with a very dark gray/light black fur that is almost fleece. The inside of the zip-on hood has the same, and the fur on the hood is black, thick and luxurious. The sleeves have black cuffs at the wrist like on a sweatshirt under the purple sleeve itself so no cold can enter that way. The hood strings are black with a gold metal tip. Which matches the buttons. The back has a strip of elastic that gathers, and this a band on each side that you can button 2 different places to make the waist tighter, or leave open altogether for the largest waist circumfrence. The pockets fit your hands at a perfect angle and are deep. Love the color too! It's a dark purple. I was worried because you never know what time or shade you're going to actually get. But it's definitely a dark grape or eggplant. Can't wait to wear it out!!!

I wouldn't order a coat in tan if it hadn't been only $50 because I so often walk where I need to be seen for safety so any color not seen in nature is best for me. Having said that, this is an attractive coat which seems as if it will be warm. I will try that part Saturday when our temps will hover around 0 (F). I usually wear a heavy sweater underneath, and it felt a little snug because of that. I bought a medium, ad I am 5'2" and weigh 118. Depending on how many layers you want, you might want to size up. There is a nice interior pocket big enough for a phone. I did wonder. It said in the Amazon ad that it is a down coat. IT IS NOT. I had wondered how it could be down at that price. Be warned. It is a very nice coat and should be sold properly advertised. That is the only reason I took a star off.

Overall it's a good coat. It's thick and warm but not the ugly tufted puffer coat style. I wear a women's size 16 and ordered a xxl which fits well and can fit a bulky sweater or hoodie underneath. When you sit down the bottom zipper may creep up a little due to the tension but that's better than it busting open. The lining of the pocket tore when I first got it but they replaced it for free and the second one is perfect. Would recommend

You don't need to buy a new winter coat every year. This is it. It's very durable. I guess I'm abusive to my outerwear. Last year my coats zipper broke, the pocket and sleeve ripped and it wasn't enough for Chicago tundra polar vortex B.S.... this coat here has a big, multi-directional zipper, 3 big pockets including well linded, long inner chest pocket, a great fluffy hood that covers forehead (fivehead for me) zips to chin, and pulls tightly with strong cord for penguin effect. Not sure what's in the lining but it's the warmest coat, equal to my exhubbys Carhart, that I've ever owned. I don't care for the gold embellishments, I like silver, but it's cute, simple, and structured. Just because it's-5° doesn't mean you have to look and feel like an Oompa Loompa.

This is a perfectly nice looking coat (it's somewhere between coat and jacket length) that is perfectly fine for cold but not freezing weather. I like that the hood is lined and detachable and that it has real cuffs to keep out snow and wind. It's slim and lightweight. However, I live in Minnesota and last week each day was at least -20 before windchill. This coat is pretty much useless for that. I'm going to keep it because it is nice looking and there are things about it that I like. It'll be great for November, March, and April, when the parka is a bit too much. But I subtracted one star for it really not being any warmer than a well made hoodie, and another star because I am quite sure that zipper is going to break within a few months of use.
