Vine review. This string of 20 lights (.2 watts per bulb or 4 total watts for the entire strand at full brightness) with a length of 48 ft. seems quite well made and is surprisingly longer than I had expected. The lights are bright and reasonably warm white. In addition to the strand itself, the box also includes one spare bulb, a manual, a contact card, a wireless remote (not bluetooth) that requires 2 AA batteries (included). The light bulbs are made of clear plastic, not glass. This is why they're shatterproof. However, because they are made of plastic they are not perfectly clear like glass (see photo). Be careful when opening the box because in my box the spare bulb was right on top and it was the first thing that popped right out of the box and onto the floor. Thankfully, the bulbs are made of plastic. The remote has several settings including 25%, 50%, 75% and 100% dimmer buttons along with + and - buttons to dim the lights in a more granular fashion. There are 3 hour and 5 hour timer buttons on the remote. There is also a breathe function (misspelled breath on the remote, using alternating bright and dim sine wave flash) and an on-off Flash mode as well as the solid-on Lighting button. There is no sound mode on these lights. While the listing explicitly says the bulbs are rated IP44 as water resistant (i.e., splash proof) and because they are made of sealed plastic, they likely are splash proof. IP44 is discussed in more detail below. However, the power supply might not be fully waterproof and may only offer limited water protection. It's difficult to tell about the power supply, but I'd assume that it is waterproof based on the product's listing stating this strand can be used outdoors. It's difficult to know for certain about the power supply as neither the manual nor the listing mentions anything about the power supply itself. Each light socket on the wire has a built-in clip to attach each bulb to an anchor point of your choosing. Overall, this strand of lights is bright and well made. The wireless remote works very well. My only concern is exactly how waterproof the power supply unit is in the face of a deluge of water. Hopefully, the power supply is as waterproofed as the light bulbs and strand. This strand is reasonably priced for the quality. What is IP44? IP44 is a rating that designates the level of protection a product has against water ingress. While IP44 offers some protection against water ingress, it may not protect the bulbs against heavy rain nor submersion in water. What this means is that if you intend to hang these lights outdoors and your location occasionally has torrential downpours with lots and lots of rainfall for long periods, these lights would be better situated under the cover an awning or under a roof overhang were they can be somewhat protected against heavy downpours. Even then, they might not remain protected. Because the lights are IP44 rated, it is likely the DC power supply could be similarly water resistance rated. That means it would be best to cover the power supply unit to protect it against any water flows. However, because the power supply might also run a bit hot while operating, the covering would need to allow the heat to dissipate in some way. I'll update this review later to discuss longevity of the bulbs and of the strand itself. Hopefully, this strand of lights last for quite a while, assuming the strand is as water resistant as it is claimed.

I am a member of the Amazon Vine program. I order new items, and then write honest, unbiased reviews of that product, along with my impressions and experiences. I am not paid for these reviews. I like these Rovnoes indoor/outdoor string lights. They install easily, as lights like this typically do, simply by hanging the lights up from point to point with hooks, screws or maybe zip ties. They are just about waterproof, meaning that they are likely to be reliable even after being drenched with rain over and over. For your information: The bulbs (included) are about the same size as many other light string lights, but the screw-in base is a bit smaller than on many light strings. The bulbs are rated for up to fifteen thousand hours of service, and you do get one spare bulb included in the package. That is a good deal. The thing I like best about these string lights is that they are (low-voltage) LED bulbs, with a remote control that can adjust the lights to four levels of brightness and three lighting modes. You can adjust these lights to suit your preferences for any special occasion. I like these LED string lights, with a remote control, and I recommend them.
