    • Powerful little heater
We got this heater to provide heat during the night in a bedroom which has an electric baseboard heater (vintage 1970s, what were they thinking?!) which isn't used due to cost. We plugged it in for the first time to try it out in the dining room. Good thing, as the initial heated plastic smell was rather overwhelming--definitely not something we would want in the bedroom. Each use, the heated plastic smell has gotten less, and it is now tolerable to use (smell-wise) in the bedroom. This is a very powerful little heater. The bedroom which it is used in isn't very large and at the lower wattage, this heater quickly heats the room. It is nice that it has the tilting function and we also really appreciate the timer function so it isn't left on accidently (after 2 hours of heat on, it has remained warm enough for the rest of the night, so far in this northern climate, but will be prepared for longer, colder nights to come this season). ... show more

We're using this Grandfast Outdoor Patio Heater in a room 24x16 and it works well. The heat does cycle on an off in intervals indicated by a clicking sound, but that doesn't interfere with it working. The thermometer can be set between 40F-80F in 10 degree increments, and the timer can be set between 2H-10H in 2 hour increments. They both work simply and well but we don't use them, we are using the two watt settings, 950W and 1500W and turn the heater off when we are not in the room. It has a tip over switch for safety. It creates a lot of heat but the fan only has one speed and it is loud which will be an issue for some people. ... show more

This little guy is rated at 1500 watts. So, it plugs into the outlet fine and will use most extension cords. I’d use a higher rated than average cord or power strip because heaters can have problems. I mention that because this thing has a 4-foot cord on it and the instructions caution users to keep it at least 3 foot away from anything flammable. I had to figure out the controls. The little dial on top just goes round and round. But, when it’s plugged in a small red light shows up to indicate what you have selected and then you have to press the button to make that selection. Honestly, I miss simpler controls. It took a bit to warm up and then it was awesome. I like the fan, it allowed me to aim it where I wanted it and then it would warm up quickly. The only thing I missed was some way to safely grab it to re-position the unit. There is a bit of an extension on the top toward the back, but it’s not really enough to grab onto firmly. TLDR; no handle, short cord, learning curve on the controls, other than that it’s a great little heater. ... show more

REVISED 11/13/23 In my original post I said "I'll start with I would have posted 3.5 stars if we could do half stars." I would like to say I stand corrected!! After posting my inital review I paid more attention and this little heater has blown my mind!! I live in an old house which has central heat but not enough heat vents. So my living room gets a little chilly. This little guy is little. As you can see in the picture with the pet water dispenser (which is a small one gallon size, it is smaller than the dispenser. I actually had to read the instructions to get it turned on because unlike other heater/fans which you just turn the knob for on, fan, heat, hotter, etc., with this one, you have to turn to the setting and then push the button to set it. I had at first thought once you selected 1 or 2 for heating that you "then you go to the next push button to select your temperature for when using the heat settings, and you can also select if you want it on a timer (buttons and setting on the second picture)." This is where I fumbled the first use. FAN: works as expected. HEAT 1: My mistake was to say "not very efficient even at 950W." I retied turning it on to H1 but this time I did not touch the different temps. Within 30 minutes the temperature in my living room/dining room/kitchen went from 61 degrees to 64 degrees!! This is better than any other heater I own, including my overpriced La$ko tower heater! HEAT 2: Still works. At 1500W I would hope so! But I can tell you I have not had to use this at all!! I like that, unlike other heaters, you can change the direction to blow up. Since hot air rises it doesn't always work well with heaters that are either stationary or only go side to side. This little guy you can aim it up so that as it blows upward it forces the air to hit the ceiling and come back down, thereby circulating it better. PROS: * Great fan, very well made * Incredible heating at H1...even better at H2 * Great direction movement, tilting it upwards helps push the heat rising back down. CONS: * Instructions for use with the temperatures is somewhat confusing. * Cord is very short, could use a cord maybe a foot or 2 longer * A remote would be great. That is a personal preference for me as with a remote you can be sitting not have to get up to turn on or off. ... show more

    • Works well, but not as well as other heaters we have
I was mildly surprised when I did the comparison to another "box-type" space heater we have. That one oscillates but this one will angle up, which I actually prefer. I thought this would move a lot more air, but it's about equal to the box type heater. It doesn't seem to get as hot either. I am giving it four stars because I had anticipated that it would be more powerful than it is. ... show more
