This is a Boning Knife from the OUTDOOR EDGE VANTEX series. It has a classic design, and is made from quality materials. Here’s how I see the product: HANDLE: Made from soft thermoplastic rubber (TPR, primary) and hard ABS plastic (secondary). The TPR surface has a fine grain texture that enhances the no-slip grip. While a prominent finger groove gives the handle a contoured, custom feel. The ABS has been molded with aggressive jimping for control. For example, the jimping at the blade interface provides a generous platform for the thumb. Overall, the handle is comfortable, easy to grip, and gives the user excellent control of the blade while cutting. BALANCE: The knife is relatively lightweight, weighing in a only 2.4oz. While the knife has a balanced feel, the weight distribution favors the handle. This helps to settle the handle in the palm, instead of tipping forward towards the blade. The lightweight design should give this knife an advantage when the demands are high. BLADE: The blade is 5-inches in length, with a slender, narrow build that slopes gently upwards towards the tip. The thin build reduces resistance when cutting through tissue and bone, and allows for delicate cuts. The pointed tip has a taper that's perfect for digging in and severing joints and connective tissue. There’s aggressive jimping on the back edge of the blade that’s an extension of the handle. Like the jimping on the handle, the blade jimping provides a platform for controlling the blade. For safety, there’s a finger guard where the blade meets the handle. The blade is very sharp out of the box. It cut through paper with ease, leaving sharp edges behind (see attached pics). ACCESSORIES: The knife comes with a hard shell sheath, with a contour that matches the blade. It’s made from hard ABS plastic (primary) and softer thermoplastic rubber (secondary). The latter has jimping that’s an extension of the handle. The sheath is designed to “catch” the blade and hold it securely in place. There’s an audible “click” sound once the blade is fully inserted, and the catch engages the blade. 👍 RECOMMENDATION 👍 I really like this VANTEX Boning Knife from OUTDOOR EDGE. Everything about it is exceptional. Including the design, the build quality, and the blade performance. And yet it’s priced just a penny shy of $30. For me, that’s a value buy that I’m happy to recommend. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I know this brand fairly well, and I definitely think it is to be regarded quite highly in the world of value knives. It is one of those brands I would say you usually get at least a little more than you paid for. This is a lot of knife at the current price of about $30. That said, the pictures are wrong on most of those posted on the description, as I was hoping to get the clip point and not the boning knife. That should definitely be corrected as it is quite misleading. But moving on, good budget steel, and nice solid-fitting sheath too! In any case, if you need a knife for boning or filleting fish, this is a great, well-made quality option for little money.

Nice little knife to have around, it came pretty sharp out of the box. I just keep it around as a box cutter essentially but it has no problem with doing that. The mechanism feels strong and the knife overall feels good quality.

I was in need of a good boning knife for my outdoor grill and smoker. I ordered this knife and am very pleased with it. The blade is high quality and is keeping a very sharp edge even after numerous cooks. It is perfect for boning or trimming meats, being thin, very sharp, and just slightly flexible while being firm enough for large cuts. The length of the blade and ergonomic handle are perfect. It feels well balanced and it just feels good in your hand. I feel I do need to state that the well shaped handle and sheath are made of hard plastic. They are well made and it feels like a quality knife, especially for the price.

This knife arrives sharp enough to shave. The handle has a good grip and the sheath is solid and protects the edge. The steel of the knife is a Chinese steel that's generally considered an upper mid-level but inexpensive steel, but it does have a tendency to chip which isn't good for a boning knife especially. The blade has a titanium coating, it comes very sharp and is easy to sharpen after use, and for me it's a pretty good balance between stiffness and flexibility in the blade. Both the knife and the sheath have lanyard holes but no way to attach to a belt. For about $30 I'd say the knife is well worth it. Looks like it's an American company using Chinese steel. I'd prefer a clip or loop that would fit on a belt, but the big reason for four stars instead of five is using this steel on a knife meant to be used around bone is just asking for chipping in the blade. For the price though, it's a solid four stars from me.

It’s a decent quality knife with a hard sheath that’s great to stick in a pack or backpack for fishing or camping trips. The steel is very good quality and has a very sharp edge with a grip for the thumb along the back of the blade. It has excellent flexibility and strength. The handle is a strong, non-slip rubber and has a very comfortable grip. The hard sheath could feel a little too light to be considered high quality but it’s also very strong and will protect the blade from bending in a backpack quite well which can be a worry with thinner knives. Overall this is a really good boning knife that’s extremely portable and well made and I plan to keep this with my camping equipment for our next fishing trip.
