    • A great light over your shoulder...
This light is for my keyboard on the back-up computer. Stout and sturdy, with great illumination and is adjustable for awkward areas. Quite tall as well, which puts the light where you need it most.

I bought 2 of these ott floor lamps in black for my fiber arts studio classes They are terrific! Used them now 8 months they blend in to the surroundings and do not stand out give a nice swath of light on students work . I just ordered 2 more . Highly recommended . Used ott lights for decades i was pleased to see these new design preformed as well as older models i have . They have a real off on switch no electronic variables modes .     • Adjustable lamp is a problem
I gave this product a 4-star rating because the flexible lamp portion of the light doesn't really bend to highlight a book page. My husband has very limited vision and he cannot lower the lamp enough to see whatever he is reading. If I had to buy it again, I would definitely get a floor lamp with a telescoping pole so that you could adjust it to the material you're reading. Lesson learned! But other than this problem, the light is very bright and the lamp is lighweight overall and easily moved. ... show more

Love this standing lamp! It was easy to assemble and works well. The light is bright white making it easy to read or do hand work. I have never been disappointed by Ott Lite. I have 4 different types and they are all excellent.

    • Love the old style Ott-Lite
I have a desk LED Ott-lite and, for the purpose, it works fine. However, when it comes to the task lighting I need for crafts and small detail work, nothing beats the old style fluorescent lamps. I feel it has better color accuracy whereas the LED lights seem more artificial. I also prefer the sturdiness of this light. The LED lights usually have their poles in sections that are less stable and prone to coming apart. This light has the base and pole and nothing more. ... show more
