I've had two of these and first one lasted a few years. This one will no longer open bottles. It doesn't seem to have the strength. It's not that the battery is dead. It is fully charged but stops about halfway through and nothing I can do will finish the job other than withdrawing it (reversing it) and getting my manual opener. I see it has a warranty but it's probably not worth the effort. Update: Well, I went to Oster.com and was able to enter my model number and what happened and asked for a refund. I had an email in a little bit asking for more info, and voilà, a replacement arrived. It is working well. Still seems it could be more powerful, so 4 stars. Kudos to them. ... show more

This unit is quite powerful compared to previous ones I have owned. The base is compact, so it fits on the counter nicely, but it's too compact as it doesn't hold any of the included accessories. I have them stored in a drawer!

This was given to me as a gift and I immediately ordered another to send as a gift to a friend. With severe arthritis in both thumbs I was forced to only buy wine with a screw top. This opener is so easy to use and no pressure or strength is required. Push down on button the cork comes up. Push on top of button and the cork in returned to you. Just be sure to hold onto the bottle because it has a tendency to turn as the cork is being pulled out. Changed my wine drinking life. ... show more

This is my third one. They are easy to operate. They do not like you to leave the foil on the bottle before you remove the cork. They don't work so well with dense plastic corks. They remove them fine but then you will have trouble getting the cork out of the bottle opener. Older people would need a pair of needle nosed pliars to sole this problem.
