Opener works just fine. I could not get foil cutter to fit any wine bottle. I am mechanically inclined, so I flipped the cutters over, that made foil cutter work.

I purchased two of these. They have terrible quality and are very cheap. One of the did not work at all right out of the box. Tried fresh batteries and everything. The other one, moved very slow, and then kept interrupting. Took almost 3 minutes just to take out one cork, and then it would not eject the cork. Save your money and do not buy. The media could not be loaded. No need to worry about broken corks or difficulty manually opening a bottle with a sharp corkscrew. The screw is surrounded by a barrier that illuminates during use for easy viewing, both are intelligent safety features. Quickly removes the cork and just as easily lowers it for easy removal. I would recommend rechargeable batteries if not being used frequently. Relatively quiet and a solid value for the price. I hadn't read any reviews and thought I'd be able to use this right out of the box without instruction after adding the batteries (4 AA). The foil remover was easy to detach and worked well. However, I thought the cork removal would be self-explanatory and instead, I could not get the corkscrew to attach to the cork. There are only two buttons and both just started shredding the cork without me pushing into it with any force. Then I tried using physical force to push down on the opener (thinking that would allow it to latch) and instead it wound up pushing the entire cork down into the bottle. I was still able to drink the wine but it splattered everywhere while I was pouring it out. The second time I tried using this, I read the reviews (all saying you just push the one button) and watched two electric wine bottle opener tutorials on YouTube. I'm not sure if my opener is defective but I don't think it was supposed to be this complicated! It still shredded a bit of the cork but finally after first pressing the corkscrew straight down into the cork (hard but not hard enough to push the cork through) and THEN pushing the UP button, the cork lifted out of the bottle. Pressing the down button released the cork from the opener without any problem. Unfortunately, the cork was slightly shredded so there were some pieces floating when I poured my glass of wine. :( I'm disappointed in the effort and trial/error this required to operate. However, I'll update my review and increase my rating if it turns out to have been user error and the next attempts go smoothly. ... show more
