This carving knife is easy to use, cuts smoothly, no problems. It is very easy to handle and cuts whatever thickness you want. The only possible issue for some applications might be that the blades are only about 7 inches long, so you can't slice really big meats straight through. I don't find that to be a problem as you can make oblique cuts that do the job. A previous review complained that it was hard to assemble, which is strange because no assembly is required. You have to insert the blades into the handle, but that is trivial. A bonus is that the unit comes with two blade pairs, so you get a spare. I should explain that each cutting unit is actually two blades (what I called blade pairs) that oscillate, which is how it cuts. They are connected by a simple mechanism and can be easily detached for cleaning. They are dishwasher safe.

The only reason I did not give it a five is because I would have liked some explanation about what knife is best for meat, etc. and what knife is best for bread. They may be OK for both. I just would've liked to have had some kind of direction. Great knife though for the money! Much easier to use instead of just a traditional knife.

I'm sure at some point my husband and I will use this for meat, but for now it has only been used for our sourdough loaves. And it works wonderfully. I did recently get a slicing guide which has made the process even easier to get more uniform slices but this electric knife was a game changer. It comes with two 2-piece blades...one for meats and one for bread. The serrations on the blades look like they are identical so I'm not sure what the difference is. Only the tip of the blades are different shaped, but those parts don't come in contact with the food so I honestly don't know if there is a difference but I do like that I have a separate blade for meat. The length of the usable portion of the blade is about 6.5 in. The handle of the electric knife is a little large (I have smaller hands) so if I was going to use this for a long time, it may fatigue my hand. But so far, I can easily get through one whole sourdough boule quickly. If there is an update to my review after my husband uses it for meat slicing, I will make sure to leave those notes!

Ultra high expectations for a good electric knife. If it’s not the weight it’s the size or the shotty cut jobs! This one is definitely a KEEPER, light weight, comes with two blade sets (omg every brand should include 2 blades) And most important: Smooth nice cut. It’s great. Finally one I can keep! And fake wood but looks really nice. Love it

Okay, I didn't really buy the knife for this purpose, but it can actually cut a king mattress in half! I wasn't planning on leaving a review for this knife. I bought it to cut home made bread and it cuts it well. However, today I wanted to convert a king size mattress into a twin size mattress. Chat GPT suggested using an electric carving knife. Well, this knife is supposed to be a carving/bread knife, so I thought I'd give it a try. And it worked! It wasn't easy, it was still a huge task, but little by little with the help of this knife, I was able to cut the mattress in half. It would have been nice if the blade had been longer, but it managed to get the job done. While using it, I was constantly expecting it to burn out. I was already thinking of alternative ways in which I'd be able to finish the job, but no, it kept going and going and going! It's a really strong knife that definitely doesn't easily get overheated or die. I now have a wonderful twin mattress, thanks to this knife. So 5 stars from me!
