I sprayed the entire can in multiple strategic defense lines on my 4 x 7 foot patio and waited patiently for the enemy to arrive. Two hours later the spider came creeping in from the bushes. Since I live in an apartment building, I am bound to have so many cockroaches in here. So I've purchased this. Granted it does "somewhat" kill the bugs (meaning that it's not 100% and the ones that were contacted with the spray was not dying on impact as it said), however, in that same area it was used in, more bugs just ends up still hiding in that same area. But since I just got this product for 3 days, I'm gonna give it until I run out of the bottle to give a real review. Take this review as a "first purchase" thought review. It just did not do much of a job for me. We used it inside as my wife did not want outside bugs to be eaten by the birds and would die. Actually the bugs did not totally get under control.

Ortho Home Defense Max Indoor Insect Barrier - with Extended it doesn't work and I am very upset but I am a bug problem. This stuff didn't kill them I still had to hit it was a shoe.

I used the Ortho Home Defense spray (white bottle with the red spray nozzle) on my house this time last year, and had wonderful results. Now, the ants have returned as the do every year, and I wanted to give this spray a shot. My first observation is that when I sprayed the house (some areas were for prevention, and some areas already had some ants) I noticed that it did not kill ants upon contact. That was fine.. "maybe it would kill them later.?" However, even over the next few days I noticed there were still ants everywhere I had sprayed, where products I've used in the past have gotten ridden of the ants in about three days or less. This doesn't seem to have made a difference at all. Given that it has only been two days. I will wait a little longer before trying another product. There is definitely something amiss wit this product. I buy one locally every year. It last one year. Because of Covid I had to order. I live in Louisiana and fire ants are horrible! 9-10 months of the year! I have used the whole gallon and it has not touched one fire ant pile to at least chase them out my yard. I spray in my house as well for roaches, sugar ants and spiders. (My fear of spiders are such as to cause a heart attack.). I try to return an empty jug! ... show more

Sometimes, in the summer, my house gets those extra large winged cucarachas! I HATE THOSE THINGS!!! We used to hire a professional, but I've been using this for about 3 months, along with the foggers and I have yet to see one. Thank you Jesus! It hasn't been too hot yet though. I sprayed at night. The next day there were ants all over my bathroom again. Partly because I'm in an apartment that did crappy construction but also because this stuff barely works for a day. It barely has any smell at all. It is pretty easy to use. There are 3 different locking mechanisms which is a good thing to keep kids out but the spray does stay in the wand shooter even when off after spraying, so i would suggest seeing if it sprays out after being turned off to get it all out. It has a little holster for the wand which is cool. But if this can't even kill some ants I just can't see it working on all the other bugs it lists. It is a good value only if it worked well.
