Seems to work perfectly under hood of cars for the season. Bought in October exactly a year ago. We had a years-long problem with rodents building nests in the engine compartments of both cars, chewing wire and hoses, carrying snails on top of the engines and leaving broken shells glued into the mess. Tried everything, including cotton in concentrated 15% vinegar. (Burned my nose but apparently not theirs.) Tried this scented creme in a can in an F150 after a critter chewed through a water hose. At least it wasn't a wire harness. Not so much as a footprint in the dust after that. Replaced the can a few months later when I couldn't smell it. Replaced it again this year but I could not smell it and it had no effect on the rat currently harvesting firewall insulation. Just bought a fresh box to try again, and giving it a 5 because I really cannot expect a disk of scent creme to last a year. The cans are easy to use, just peel and stick. If they don't work this year then I will update this review accordingly. ... show more

Got these to try to solve a mouse problem in my truck that is parked most of the time. Mint smell isn’t too strong and pleasant, compared to the moth balls I was using. Haven’t found and nets on droppings inside and the haven’t chewed the fuel line again.

This product is more of a citronella.Then, it is a peppermint to keep away rodents. I believe it to be mislabeled. I will hang on to the product and use it as a citrenela.For mosquitoes, but as far as other pasts like mice and bugs, this is a very bad product

Definitely smells like peppermint. Be warned, if you place the it anywhere near the engine bay, the oil will evaporate within days.

    • All rodents hate the smell and many flying-stinging insects, too.
These really work against all types of rodents and a variety of insects as well. I tried these out it my garage after I found all of the wiring on my motorcycle had been chewed apart. It cost me hundreds of dollars to have it repaired. I placed one canister on each side of the doors inside my garage and others near my bikes. They evaporate and need to be checked periodically each month and replaced as needed (more often during the summer, but don't let them go in the winter). ... show more
