Description

For use in and around the resting areas of beef and dairy cattle, swine and poultry, this insecticide is effective against darkling beetles, hide beetles, house flies (adult and larvae), stable flies and little house flies. Elector PSP can also be applied directly to poultry to control northern fowl mites. Elector PSP insect control agent is intended to be mixed with water and applied as a course or low- pressure spray. It can be applied as a general surface spray or a crack and crevice application in and around poultry houses, beef and dairy barns, feedlots, stables, corrals, housing structures and more. Chickens can get all kinds of parasites. My chickens have never had fowl mites or lice, but they have had depluming mites. These mites burrow under the skin where the feather shaft is and causes a lot of discomfort. In an attempt to get relief, the chickens will deplume themselves excessively until there are no feathers in those areas. This also causes those areas to become red. I’ve tried other products, but nothing has worked better than Elector PSP. It not only kills all kinds of adult mites, but their larvae, as well. There’s also no egg withdrawal with this product.     • WORKS ON CHICKEN LICE!
I used this the same day it was delivered! Read through a ton of reviews on here. I had acquired 20 older chicks from a local farmer and I didn't realize until day 2 of housing them, that they were infested with lice! Luckily, I had them separated from the rest of my flock (15 adult laying hens). I freaked out a bit... about 3 of the chicks had severe feather loss and I chalked it up to molting (until I got a better look). LICE! The smallest chick was maturing, about 17 weeks, but she was literally the size of my hand and SO small. She seemed weak, but able to keep up with the rest of the flock. She was the most infested with the fleas, you could literally see her skin crawling -- SO sad. Purchased the Elector PSP and filled a 32oz spray bottle to use on the whole chick flock. I used 2.25 ml of the Elector and the rest was warm water. I went out at night when they were all settled in and one by one, I sprayed underside of their wings, back of necks and on/around vent area. I started with the smallest chick. By morning, I went out to check on them and noticed that indeed, the smallest chick didn't make it overnight, but the rest of the flock was LITERALLY LICE FREE! I caught and picked up each chick and inspected thoroughly. Not a lice in sight! They are now mingling with the rest of my flock and I feel so much more at ease. Don't be scared of the price! The bottle is 250 ml and I only used 2.25ml -- CRAZY small amount to treat an infestation. This bottle will last a long, long time... many years. I used the entire 32oz bottle. I did also spray around their area and for the hell of it, went into my adult hen coop and sprayed around each hen roosting lol. I wanted to make CERTAIN that all were good. I'm so relieved.     • The best for chickens
I love elector PSP. I always try to use it after bees and other beneficial bugs go to bed since it can kill them if they get into it while it's wet. KNOW THAT THIS DOES NOT KILL MITE EGGS if you are using it for chickens. I've seen a lot of people say it is an all in one killer of mites and it isn't. It works great for Northern Fowl Mites and Scaly Leg Mites but I don't typically recommend for Red Mites due to the difficulty of getting rid of Red Mites with chickens. I also often hear people say this isn't economical, but this bottle will last me basically a lifetime for less than $150. That equates to about $5 per time I treat my entire flock and the coop (I have 20 birds). It is the most economical treatment that is an organic answer to the mite issue. This is also really easy to use and doesn't smell almost at all. I got the bottle and it never leaked, it was properly sealed like I was buying it at the store. I used it twice to treat for northern fowl mites and it worked great. ... show more

    • Pricey but very effective
Okay, so the product is expensive for what seems like a very small amount. However, it’s highly concentrated and only takes a small amount mixed with water. I purchased this to help with what I’ll call a mite issue on our chickens and in their coop. I used this as both a dunk/bath for the girls, and a spray from a pump style garden sprayer. This product works very well at least for this use, and it’s fairly easy to use. It seems to be a safe product, with the only creature the instructions say it’s toxic too are mollusks. ... show more

    • Effective for poultry mites
I use this for mite control on poultry. It is highly effective and easy to apply using a pump sprayer. Active mite infestations can be wiped out using 9ml elector per 1 gallon water and thoroughly apply all over chickens. It takes a few days for results to be seen, after one week you shouldn't see anymore mites. May require another application at the one week to get any remaining population. After knocking down infestation I recommend using ample amounts of diatomaceous earth as prevention. ... show more

    • The best insecticide for birds
Fabulous product. We use it primarily for pigeon lice, but have also treated our chickens with it. Safe and easy to use! The birds don't seem to mind it at all and it is effective in just one dose.
