Description

Kill pesky mosquitoes in your yard with Ortho® Home Defense® Backyard Mosquito & Bug Killer Ready-to-Spray. In addition to killing mosquitos that may transmit Zika Virus, Malaria, dengue fever, West Nile Virus, and more as listed, this pest control product also provides 3 month protection against ants, fleas, American dog ticks, and spiders (excluding black widow), and kills all listed insects. Use this odorless, non-staining formula on lawns, around your home perimeter, and on landscape plants including fruit trees and vegetables (review chart on the label for application directions). Apply when insects first appear. To use, attach your hose to the sprayer and turn on water. Spray lawns evenly, and spray applicable plants to wet leaves and branches, but not to the point of runoff. For perimeter treatment, spray the foundation to a height of 2 feet and also a 2-foot band around the house next to the foundation. People and pets may enter treated areas after spray has dried. One 32 fl. oz. bottle of Ortho® Home Defense® Backyard Mosquito & Bug Killer covers 5,300 sq. ft. for lawn treatment, 2,700 sq. ft. of plants, or 1,400 sq. ft. of home perimeter.

Was very excited to see if this worked mainly for mosquitoes since i have so many in my yard this year. Finally got it and when I hooked up my hose and turned it on to spray, that is exactly what it did spray all over the place. The handle had a crack where the hose wemt and it was spraying all over me. I guess it was leaking the chemicals also because i only got half my yard done b4 i ran out. Luckily i got where mydogs stay most of the time. If this works ill order another one and see if it does the same. Ill give 3 stars just because of the chemical shower i got and if i order another ill give it more that time. Mosquitos in our yard were terrible this year. I used this and it really helped. We noticed way less mosquitoes. My only thing is it's not the safest around pets. Yes once it dries it can be safe but if you dig deep into the active ingredients dry time was longer then I expected and that's hard for my dog to not be outside for hours on end sometimes. This product is more like an actual spray for around doors, window, and if applicable decks. Fogger is not what I would consider as one. Ive used other products that are actual foggers and they deter mosquitos in the air where I find this one does not. This stuff really does the trick! I love my backyard, but during the early summer months, I am eaten by mosquitoes. If I spray this around where people are gathering it cuts down on the mosquitoes considerably. I can sit outside and be comfortable. It takes about 10 minutes for the area to clear the mosquitoes and it lasts for several hours. ... show more

I guess it works. The problem is that it has a strong petroleum smell to it. Like spraying engine oil scent all around. Generally, I do not like using this stuff as it impacts many other insect species that are harmless and of no danger to us. But the invasive tiger mosquitos are out of control again. This only means that some neighbor within 100 yards of my home has standing water as tigers stay close to home. So I only use it to fog by my front door when I am in and out there and under my deck, where they hang out in the hot weather for shade but zip up to bite me sunrise to 7PM (they are daytime biters). Normally I buy non made made chemical based and instead get natural foggers but, the cost of those just seems to go up and up. It is a problem. I WANT to use natural foggers but, the industry is killing itself with price increases. he natural foggers I have used in the past work for sure! Not long lasting but, like to wipe out the tigers in the shade, it works. Then, a week or so later, replacements arrive. ... show more

When we lived in Pembroke Pines Florida we had a lot of mosquitoes. Just sitting out by the pool in the backyard, you would get eaten all the time. I bought this thing and used it, mosquitoes disappeared for at least until it rained which usually isn't more than a couple days. We moved to Middle Caicos in the Turks and Caicos Islands and I have never seen mosquitoes quite like this. This is a place where you do not go outside without bug spray. I just about emptied a bottle of this sprayer attached to the garden hose and within 2 minutes of starting, I noticed the mosquitoes that were constantly hovering around me had disappeared. By the time I was done there was not a single mosquito in sight. It hardly ever rains here and when I say hardly, I mean maybe a sprinkle once every two months so I'm hopeful for better results that Florida. I now watch and wait to see how long this defends the yard and us against these blood sucking terrotists 🤞🏽. Will update only if/when they return in numbers ... show more

I’m giving this one star because it was advertised to kill wasps. Unfortunately, I found myself in an enclosed area with a wasp nest, so I grabbed the can as I was fighting off my aggressive assailants. I sprayed them directly within 1 foot. I swear I could hear them laugh at me. The wasps shrugged it off, did not fall to the ground, but kept on protecting their nest. Cost of the emergency clinic was a lot more than the cost of this spray. Don’t risk it with it! Don’t know if it’s effective with mosquitoes or other bugs, but certainly not wasps as advertised!!!!! ... show more

This year I've tried everything from Skinsations, deet sprays, stickers, Mosquito repellent pouches and Mosquito repellent balls. I still got bitten all over. This stuff works to keep the mosquitos away and I've been able to walk my dog outside without getting bitten (still got 1 or 2 bites) but nothing compared to dozens I was getting even with long pants and a long sleeves.
