  • Did the job at a decent price!
Color: silver
I rated this low on the sturdiness side- only because it does not look as sturdy as a more expensive tool set. I've only used the tie rod end separator- but it worked really well! no issues, and I'm sure I will use the other tools soon. on my 70 VW bus and 71 VW beetle restoration projects.

  • Kit components are usable
Color: silver
All the of the different pullers work except the pitman arm puller. The best advice is once the pitman arm puller is tightened down use a propane torch or other shop torches to heat up the pitman arm so it expands slightly. Turn the screw bolt, heat it, turn again, heat it. then the arm should slide off under tension. Amazon and the seller did send out a replacement kit as the pitman arm puller screw-bolt ended up bending. (I did not apply any heat to the pitman arm -- I didn't have a torch). ... show more

  • Perfect for my 72 Buick!

Excellent for rebuilding the suspension on my 72 Buick! Fast shipping and way less expensive than the auto parts store!

  • Nice on Price...but prone to break.
Color: silver
As you might expect with cheaper stuff, these are cheap...but be warned...it don't take much to strip them out. Be careful with them! In a pinch, they are absolutely worth it! (And I was in a pinch, and they were worth it.)

  • Well Built
Color: silver
I maintain a fleet of about 20 of my family's vehicles. I hate using the loaner tools from the auto parts stores, so I try to buy good tools that will last. These are at least as sturdy as the parts store loaners and they work smoothly.

  • These got the job done
Color: silver
Great for the price and very effective. Plastic case is also very handy for keeping track until the next time I need these. It is very helpful to have an assortment of tool options, as sometimes the preferred tool does not work in the space available. If you are stuck, like I was with my repair, these will get the job done and save you a trip to the shop. ... show more

  • Kind of worked on my 2004 Dodge Ram 2500 4WD
Color: silver
I'm a little torn on this review. I bought this kit to remove all the steering links/pitman arm on my 2004 Dodge Ram 2500 4WD. In short, it mostly worked, but I had to bench grind some of the tools and I ended up busting one of the other tools in the kit, but to be fair, I used the tool for duty that it was not designed for. I gave it three stars b/c I think it would work well for smaller vehicles. Since it wasn't advertised as being for any class of vehicle in particular I knew I was taking a chance. If you have my generation Ram 2500 and you're looking at this kit, you will want to read this review... Most important, none of the tools fits the pitman arm where it mates with the pitman shaft. The large pitman arm puller in the kit is wide enough for the pitman arm, but the jaws/ears were too thick to clear the gap between the body of the steering gear and the pitman arm. In short, none of the tools in the kit fit my pitman arm application out of the box. So I tried using the tie rod puller with the movable jaws. Bad idea for two reasons, first the 'cup' on the end of the puller-screw was not meant for what I was using it for and it deformed under the stress and mangled a bit of the thread on the pitman shaft (not good), second, the stress also started to bend the screw on the puller (also not good). To be very clear, I'm not faulting the tool here, I was using the tie rod puller to pull a large pitman arm. So I gave up on that approach. Back to the large pitman arm puller...I used a bench grinder to thin the jaws/ears out. Great, problem mostly solved. Unfortunately the throat of the jaws/ears were also too small to clear the pitman arm shaft. Back to the grinder...OK, so now it finally fits. My impact wrench seemed to be working but then developed some problems...bummer...because I seemed to finally be making progress. I grab a large breaker bar. I put a lot of twist on that screw and then I felt it give...and not in that positive way...was pretty sure i just stripped-out the tool, but the pitman arm had finally budged!! So the pitman arm is off, but the tool is definitely worse for the wear (threads definitely deformed a bit). It could not have taken much more and I'm not sure it would be able to survive another pitman arm at this point. Just to be clear, although the truck is 14 years old at this point, there is little to no corrosion. I bought it corrosion free from the northwest and when I moved it northeast I have been diligent about about coasting it with Fluid Film (I highly recommend). Unfortunately, I damaged the tie rod puller trying to remove the pitman arm, so when I needed it for a few of the tie rod joints, I ended up busting it completely, again, I'm not blaming the tool here, but just keeping this review transparent. Sledge-hammered the rest of the job. ... show more
