  • This charger says it has a 65-watt output. And it does!
I am happy to say that this truly is a 65-watt charger. Using a Dell diagnostics, it shows that it is a 65 watt charger. It does not nag me when I am in Windows, telling me it is not a genuine Dell product. It also supports the USB-PD 3.1 protocol. This means that devices that support it go into Super Fast (Also known as Turboboost) charging, much like going to 11 if Fast Charging is 10. It also means that this charger has recent firmware in it and is not just a filtered transformer. Because both the charger and my laptop support USB-PD 3.1, the battery charges faster than it does with generic 90-watt charger. This charger also stays cooler than the generic under stressful use. The reason I am happy to say that this is a real 65-watt charger is because of the generics that I have purchased that did not live up to their description. I bought what was described as a "120-watt" charger, only to find out it only has a 90-watt output. A total of 6 generics, none actually had the output they were labeled as. And none supported the latest USB-PD protocols, some, like the 90-watt that I mentioned, support none at all. That lack of support is important. Without it, battery charging is slower. Newer docking stations will report the charger is not compatible or has insufficient capacity, even though rating exceeds the requirements. I received 3 chargers from different sellers across the USA. All 3 are identical in every way. If you happene to see my review more than once, this is why. All three have an actual output of 65-watts and appear to support the PD-USB 3.1 Protocols, because they do "SuperFast Charging" in Samsung phones and "TurboBoost Charging" on Motorola phones. I want you to understand that is NOT being sold to charge phones, but I am merely them as tool to see if the charger supports PD-USB. This charger would be an excellent choice for the laptops the charger is meant to support. ... show more

  • Works perfectly with my DELL 2-in-1 and my MS Surface Pro via USB-C
I needed a replacement DELL charger after leaving mine at a hotel room. This replacement works perfectly, is rated for the same 65 watts which I verified using a FNIRSI USB Voltage Current Multimeter. It also charged my Surface Pro via USB-C. Cable length is respectable 6 feet length.

  • Shows up as 55W PSU when needs a 60W or above in Dell BIOS
Brand new Dell, and using this it shows up as a 55W and give me a warning : "Alert! a 55W AC power adaptor has been detected. The system can only boot with a 60W adaptor or greater" So not 65W as advertized.

  • Despite the listing, this is almost certainly not a genuine Dell charger.
First, this does work. It seems reasonably well made, and does charge my XPS 13 Plus 9320 just fine. This particular unit was selected over others because it claims to be original Dell. Original Dell products are sold by Dell, and typically come in OEM Dell packaging. This is not that. I have several Dell type C chargers ranging in wattage from 30 to well over a hundred Watts depending on the laptop with which they were designed to be used. Every one of them has laser markings for the brand, agency approvals, and ratings. This has a label printed with Dell and similar ratings, which is not like the original Dell chargers. All of the original Dell chargers have a full radius side housing. This has flat sides with generous radii on the edges. There is no way this came from Dell's industrial design team. It would be different than all of the other original Dell chargers. The strain reliefs and overmolds for the cables are also sufficiently different from the original Dell chargers that it looks like an attempt was made to copy them, but not entirely successful. The three-point contact connector that fits into the plug housing is also not marked with all of the detailed information that is marked on the original Dell charger cables. All of these tell me that this is not a Dell charger. Workmanship is fine, welding of the plastic housings is clean and seems durable, and the cables are acceptable. It does, in fact, charge and does not overheat. So if you go into this assuming that this $25 charger is truly Dell, you may be quite disappointed as am I. If you go into this thinking that this is a made- for - Dell charger and not the original, then you could pay less money and get one of the ones that is not trying so hard to pretend to be original. Labels are cheap. ... show more

  • Works Perfectly
This laptop charger works perfectly. It is Dell branded and, while I can't be positive that it is an actual OEM product, it was immediately recognized by Dell diagnostics. It is slightly different in length from my original charger but, other than that, it performs exactly the same. Overall, I highly recommend this either as a replacement charger or an extra one to keep at home or the office. ... show more

  • Looks good, works well
Looks good and DELL branded, although a different Length/width than my original XPS 13 9350 charger in particular (which doesn't necessarily mean anything). When plugged in it charged just fine and the DELL diagnostics were happy with the charger as a high speed DELL charger.

  • Thankfully USB Type-C is the Standard
Gone are the days when specific adapters and power supplies were tailored to specific consumer electronics. The upshot: power adapters now are indistinguishable and perform accordingly. This commodity-like item does the job, and does it cheaply -- thanks to the competition that comes from standardizing around the USB Type-C interface. ... show more
